Abstract
Un método y un sistema integrado para reducir las emisiones de CO₂ en los procesos industriales. El método y el sistema integrado capturan gas dióxido de carbono (CO₂) a partir de una primera corriente de gas con un absorbente químico para producir una segunda corriente de gas que tiene una mayor concentración de gas monóxido de carbono (CO) y una mayor concentración de gas CO₂ comparando con la primera corriente de gas. El gas CO en la segunda corriente de gas se utiliza para producir hidrocarburos de C₅ a C₂₀ en una reacción exotérmica con gas hidrógeno (H₂). Al menos una porción del calor generado en la reacción exotérmica se utiliza para regenerar el absorbente químico con la liberación del gas CO₂ capturado a partir de la primera corriente de gas. El calor capturado durante la reacción exotérmica puede, opcionalmente, ser utilizado primero para generar electricidad, en donde el calor que queda luego de la generación de electricidad se utiliza para regenerar térmicamente el absorbente químico.
