Abstract
En un sistema y método para monitorear plagas, se coloca un dispositivo de control cerca de una estructura e incluye un producto de cebo y un sensor dispuesto dentro del producto de cebo. El sensor incluye un filamento que está recubierto por un recubrimiento y que reacciona a la exposición al ambiente exterior del recubrimiento, de modo que al menos una característica eléctrica del sensor cambie en respuesta a tal exposición. Un miembro de comunicación se conecta al producto de cebo en contacto con el sensor para determinar al menos una característica eléctrica y enviar una señal que indique al menos una característica eléctrica. En función de una pluralidad de las señales recibidas del miembro de comunicación durante un período, se determina al menos uno de un nivel de infestación de plagas en al menos un dispositivo de monitoreo y un nivel de degradación del producto de cebo.
