Un método para el control de la plaga Spodoptera litura, que comprende el paso de poner en contacto Spodoptera litura con la proteína Cry1A. Spodoptera litura es controlado por la proteína Cry1A que tiene actividad plaguicida contra Spodoptera litura, la cual es producida en plantas.
