Abstract
Un método de producción capaz de producir en forma masiva UK-2 a bajo costo, el ADN genómico del Streptoverticillium sp. 3-7, que produce UK-2, fue analizado para identificar una región que se estima es un racimo de genes biosintéticos UK-2. Además mediante hibridación por colonia, se pudieron aislar con éxito ADNs en la región. Además se usaron los ADNs para preparar una cepa en la cual se interrumpieron los genes presentes en la región. Se descubrió que la cepa no produce UK-2. Se verificó que la región genómica era el racimo de genes biosintéticos UK-2. Asimismo, se transformó el Streptoverticillium sp. 3-7 mediante la introducción de un vector en el cual se insertó el racimo de genes biosintéticos UK-2 aislados. También se descubrió que la productividad de UK-2 mediante el transformante se mejoró entre 10 y 60 veces o más en comparación con la de la cepa parenteral.
