Abstract
Los interruptores de proximidad incluyen una unidad sellada herméticamente que se puede usar en ambientes rigurosos y bajo presiones significativas, tal como bajo agua en instalaciones de potencia nuclear, sin necesidad de remplazar ninguna parte ni mantenimientos periódicos. Los interruptores de proximidad son preferentemente interruptores accionados mediante movimiento físico de un contacto en respuesta a las fuerzas magnéticas cambiantes. Los interruptores se disponen preferentemente en un barrilete que opcionalmente incluye un conjunto de sellado hermético para sellar un extremo abierto del barrilete y/o un casquillo que evita que los cables eléctricos unidos al interruptor dentro del barrilete sea retirado del interruptor. Además, los interruptores preferentemente mantienen una presión de contacto entre contactos eléctricos suficiente como para resistir la prueba de aceleración sísmica de 10 g sin discontinuidad del contacto.
