Abstract

La presente descripción proporciona métodos para la producción de una planta que exhibe un rasgo alterado seleccionado del grupo que consta de nivel de azúcar hexosa alterado, nivel de almidón alterado, actividad de la sacarosa fosfato sintasa alterada, nivel de ureido alterado y senescencia retardada, en comparación con una planta de control. La presente descripción también proporciona células transgénicas, plantas, partes de plantas, semillas, plantas de progenie, productos o productos de consumo producidos mediante este método.Reivindicación 1: Un método para la producción de una planta que exhibe un rasgo mejorado seleccionado del grupo que consta de niveles alterados de al menos un azúcar hexosa, niveles alterados de almidón, actividad de la sintasa fosfato sacarosa alterada, niveles alterados de al menos un ureido y senescencia retardada, en comparación con una planta de control, comprendiendo dicho método: 1) proporcionar un ácido nucleico recombinante que codifica un polipéptido, en donde el polipéptido comprende un dominio conservado que tiene la secuencia de aminoácidos de SEC ID Nº 7; 2) introducir en una célula vegetal el ácido nucleico recombinante para producir una planta transgénica, y 3) el crecimiento de la planta transgénica con una característica mejorada.
