Abstract
Se describe un sistema de reconocimiento de gestos. En un ejemplo, se detectan los movimientos realizados por un usuario de un dispositivo de entrada que tiene una parte sensible al tacto utilizando una definición de una cantidad de áreas que corresponden a zonas en la parte sensible al tacto, estando cada área asociada con un conjunto distinto de gestos. Los datos que describen movimientos de los dedos del usuario en la parte sensible al tacto es recibido, y se determina un área asociada para los datos. Los datos se comparan con el conjunto de gestos asociados al área, y se selecciona un gesto aplicable a los datos. Un comando asociado con el gesto seleccionado puede entonces ser ejecutado. En un ejemplo, la comparación de los datos con el conjunto de gestos comprende posicionar un umbral para cada gesto vinculado con el comienzo del movimiento de los dedos. La ubicación del dedo se compara con cada umbral para determinar si se cruzó un umbral, y, si es así, se selecciona el gesto asociado con ese umbral.
