Abstract

Se provee un dispositivo y un método de inmunoensayo para determinar la severidad de una apendicitis en un paciente que incluye estudiar una muestra de sangre, suero o plasma del paciente para determinar la cantidad de MRP8/14 en la muestra y compararla con la cantidad de MRP8/14 presente en muestras estándar correlacionadas con un sistema de calificacion de severidad de apendicitis. También se proveen muestras estándar y datos que correlacionan las cantidades de MRP8/14 presentes en la muestra del paciente con los grados de severidad de apendicitis sobre base histologica que también se proveen. Los métodos y dispositivos de inmunoensayo y kits de la presente son utiles para el manejo del tratamiento de pacientes que se presentan con síntomas de apendicitis.
