Abstract
Se revela un aparato y método para auto-valorar un láser quirurgico. Una realizacion del método comprende: proveer un algoritmo, en donde el algoritmo es operable para configurar el láser en base a una o más entradas; proveer una primera entrada de usuario operable para hacer que el algoritmo se ejecute y dispare el láser en un patron definido; proveer una segunda entrada de usuario, en respuesta a una condicion observada, operable para hacer que el láser pare de disparar y haga que el algoritmo determine uno o más valores de parámetro de láser y configuren el láser en base al uno o más valores de parámetro de láser, en donde un valor de potencia de láser final cuando el láser para de disparar es una entrada para el algoritmo y en donde el algoritmo determina el uno o más parámetros en base al valor de potencia de láser final. El método además puede comprende colocar el láser en un modo (quirurgico) "listo", ya sea automáticamente mediante el algoritmo de auto-valoracion o vía otra entrada de usuario. Una vez que está en un modo listo, un usuario, tal como un cirujano, puede realizar un procedimiento quirurgico con un láser configurado automáticamente. Las entradas de usuario puede ser provistas activando un conmutador de control, tal como un pedal típicamente usado por los cirujanos oftálmicos para controlar la operacion de un láser quirurgico oftálmico.
