Abstract

Un conjunto de ánodo sacrificatorio para proteger y/o pasivar catodicamente una seccion de metal, que comprende: a) una celda, que tiene un ánodo y un cátodo dispuestos de manera de no estar en contacto electronico entre sí pero de manera de estar en contacto ionico entre sí, de modo que la corriente eléctrica pueda fluir entre el ánodo y el cátodo; b) un conector, fijado al ánodo de la celda para conectar eléctricamente el ánodo a la seccion de metal a protegerse catodicamente; y c) un ánodo sacrificatorio conectado eléctricamente en serie con el cátodo de la celda; en el que la celda está por lo menos aislada con respecto al entorno de manera que la corriente eléctrica puede fluir solamente hacia el interior y el exterior de la celda por medio del ánodo sacrificatorio y el conector. La presente también provee un método para proteger catodicamente metal, en el que un conjunto de ánodo sacrificatorio de este tipo se fija catodicamente al metal por medio del conector del conjunto, y una estructura de concreto reforzado en la que parte o la totalidad del refuerzo está catodicamente protegida mediante un método tal.
