Abstract

La invencion describe un método para disminuir la viscosidad de los petroleos crudos y residuos utilizando una combinacion de tratamiento térmico y ácido. Más aun, la invencion describe un método para preparar una emulsion de agua en aceite o una emulsion de agua en aceite estabilizada con solidos con viscosidad reducida. La emulsion se puede utilizar en métodos de recuperacion intensificada de petroleo, incluyendo el uso de la emulsion como fluido de desplazamiento para desalojar los hidrocarbu ros de una formacion subterránea y utilizar la emulsion como fluido de barrera para desviar el flujo de fluidos en la formacion.
