"MéTODO PARA DIMINUIR A VISCOSIDADE DE óLEOS BRUTOS E RESìDUO, MéTODO TéRMICO DE VISCOREDUçãO PARA REDUZIR A VISCOSIDADE DE óLEOS BRUTOS E RESìDUO, óLEO BRUTO OU RESìDUO DE óLEO BRUTO, MéTODOS PARA PREPARAR UMA EMULSãO áGUA-EM-óLEO, E PARA RECUPERAR HIDROCARBONETOS DE UMA FORMAçãO SUBTERRâNEA, E, EMULSãO áGUA-EM-óLEO". A invenção descreve um método para diminuir a viscosidade de óleos brutos e resíduo utilizando-se uma combinação de tratamento térmico e ácido. Além disso, a invenção descreve um método para preparar uma emulsão água-em-óleo, ou uma emulsão água-em-óleo estabilizada com sólidos com uma viscosidade reduzida. A emulsão pode ser usada em métodos de recuperação incrementada de óleo, incluindo o uso das emulsões como um fluido de arraste para deslocar hidrocarbonetos em uma formação subterrânea, e utilizando-se a emulsão como um fluido de barreira para desviar fluxo de fluidos na formação.
