Abstract

Se revela un método para alterar, ya sea para aumentar o disminuir, la pigmentacion de la piel o del cabello en un sujeto que necesite dicho tratamiento,que comprende la aplicacion en forma topica de una cantidad eficaz de una composicion que comprende, por lo menos, un ácido carboxílico sustituido aromático oheterocíclico o un derivado de ellos durante una cantidad de tiempo suficiente para inducir la pigmentacion cutánea y/o del cabello, con la salvedad de quedicho ácido carboxílico no comprenda un grupo libre o protegido de fenol, naftol, tiofenol o tiofanol. También se describen las composiciones dermatologicasy/o cosméticas que comprenden una cantidad mejoradora o inhibidora de la melanina de, por lo menos, un ácido carboxílico sustituido aromático o heterocíclico oun derivado de los mismos. Finalmente se proporciona un ensayo novedoso para la identificacion de los compuestos que puedan alterar (mejorar o inhibir) laexpresion de la melamina por parte de los melanocitos, con preferencia de los melanocitos humanos. Son ejemplos de compuestos que pueden alterar la expresionde la melamina por parte de los melanocitos, los siguientes: ácido 4[1-(5,6,7,8-tetrahidro-5,5,8,8-tetrametil-2-naftil)etenil]-benzoico; ácido3-[3-(5,5,8,8-tetrametil-5,6,7,8-tetrahidronaftalen-2-il)-fenil]-acrílico; ácido 3-[3-(3,5,5,8,8-pentametil-5,6,7,8-tetrahidro-naftalen-2-il)-fenil]-but-2-enoico; ácido 6-[1-(3,5,5,8,8-pentametil-5,6,7,8-tetrahidro-naftalen-2-il)-ciclopropil]-nicotínico; ácido 3-[3-(3,5,5,8,8-pentametil-5,6,7,8-tetrahidro-naftalen-2-il)-fenil]-acrílico; ácido 4-(3,5,5,8,8-pentametil-5,6-7,8-tetrahidronaftalen-2-carbonil)-benzoico; ácido4-(3-bromo-5,5,7,8-tetrametil-5,6,78-tetrahidro-naftalen-2-iloxi-benozoico; ácido 5[(E)-2-(3,5,5,8,8-pentametil-5,6,7,8 -tetrahidro-naftalen-2-il)-propenil]-tiofen-3-carboxílico; ácido3-[3-(5,5,8,8-tetrametil-5,6,7,8.tetrahidro-naftalen-2-ilsulfanil)-fenil]-acrílico; ácido 6-(3-butil-5,5,8,8-tetrametil-5,6,7,8-tetrahidro-naftalen-2-ilsulfanil)-nicotínico; ácido 4-(3,5,5,8,8-pentametil-5,6,7,8-tetrahidro-2-naftiltio)benzoico; ácido3-(3,5,5,8,8-pentametil-5,6,7,8-tetrahidro-2-naftil)fenil-A method is revealed to alter, either to increase or decrease, the pigmentation of the skin or hair in a subject in need of such treatment, which comprises the application in a topical form of an effective amount of a composition comprising, at least , an aromatic or heterocyclic aromatic substituted carboxylic acid or a derivative thereof for a sufficient amount of time to induce skin and / or hair pigmentation, with the proviso that said carboxylic acid does not comprise a free or protected group of phenol, naphthol, thiophenol or thiophanol Also described are dermatological and / or cosmetic compositions comprising a melanin enhancing or inhibiting amount of at least one aromatic or heterocyclic substituted carboxylic acid or derivative thereof.
