Abstract

Un artículo absorbente distintivo incluye un nucleo absorbente que tiene multiples capas absorbentes, en donde las capas absorbentes interactuan de maneratal que ubica preferencialmente el líquido absorbido en una capa de transporte designada, de alta saturacion. La ubicacion del líquido dentro de esta capa detransporte aumenta el potencial de esta capa para desplazar el líquido a través de la accion capilar debido al alto nivel de saturacion y el aumento de lacantidad de líquido disponible. Lacapacidad de absorcion del sistema absorbente se mantiene o se mejora por sobre los sistemas actuales al mantener unasegunda capa del sistema absorbente a niveles de saturacion bajos a través de tantas descargas del producto como sea posible, a la vez que se provee unrendimiento optimo de absorcion a través del control apropiado de las propiedades del compuesto. La baja saturacion de esta capa provee un volumen vacío parala descarga entrante así como una baja permeabilidad, por lo tanto aumentala velocidad de absorcion del sistema absorbente en su conjunto, pero la estructurade la capa de baja saturacion también se equilibra para proveer un nivel alto adecuado de tension capilar a fin de proporcionar un control suficiente dellíquido que posibilite impedir la ocurrencia de filtraciones. Esta capa de baja saturacion se utiliza además de un material de flujo y provee la funcionalidadde absorcion sumada a la provista por el material de flujo. En aspectos particulares de la invencion, porlo tanto, la capa contacto-cuerpo no se utiliza comocapa de transporte de alta saturacion, sino como capa de absorcion. Asimismo, esta disposicion permite que la capa de absorcion esté en contacto directo con ellíquido entrante, y de este modo da lugar a un acceso más inmediato y a una funcion de absorcion mejorada. En aspectos particulares, por lo menos una region decapa principal puede tener una estructura heterogénea. En configuraciones adicionales, dicha region de capa principal puede incluir una pluralidad de dos o mássubcapas.
