Abstract

El invento se refiere a un método para proteger las plantas en crecimiento de los insectos y de los virus que se transmiten a través de los insectos,método que consiste en aplicar sobre un lugar elegido de las superficie de plantas encrecimient o y del medio que las rodea una composicion que contienepartículas reflectantes de al menos una sustancia, siempre y cuando ésta no sea solamente aluminio sin recubrir, siendo dicha composicion efectiva para repelerdichos insectos y asíproteger las plantas. El invento también se refiere a una composicion para proteger las plantas en crecimiento de los insectos y de losvirus que se transmiten a través de los insectos, composicion que contiene particulas reflectantes de almenos una sustanci a junto con al menos undiluyente, vehículo o aditivo aceptable desde el punto de vista agrícola, con la condicion de que dicha sustancia no sea solamente aluminio sin recubrir. Deesta manera, el invento permite removerefectivamente los insectos de las plantas en crecimiento de una manera considerablemente más economica que la delos métodos usuales que emplean láminas reflectantes protectoras, evitando el dano o la destruccion de las plantas que se produceal emplear tales láminas encl imas calientes. Además, no presenta las desventajas de la lechada cuyo efecto repelente sobre los insectos no es suficientemente poderoso, que a altasconcentraciones en el aerosol puede ser nociva para las plantas y conla cual los cultivos rociado s requieren de un tratamiento especial para removerla de lasfrutas o los vegetales en cuestion.
