Sales hidratadas de N, N-diacetilcistina, que tienen la formula I en la cual la N, N-diacetilcistina es la formula D-, L-, o meso, o cualquier mezclade las mismas, R+ es la formula protonada de lisina, amoníaco o N-bencil-2- -feniletilamina,y x es 1; 1,5; o 2, que se designan monohidrato, sesquihidrato, y dihidrato, respectivamente, con la condicion de que cuando, y solo cuando , R+ sea la forma protonada de N-bencil-2-feniletilamina, X sea1,5. Además sedan a conocer un proceso parala preparacion de dichas sales, y composiciones terapéuticas que comprenden a dichas sales como ingredientes activos.
