Abstract

Se provee un método mejorado para la conversión del haluro de 5,6- dicarboxil-3-piridilmetil amonio a una sal de 2,3-dicarboxilato de 5-(alcoximetil)piridina a través de una reacción cerrada de etapa única, con el alcohol apropiado y unab ase a una temperatura de aproximadamente 120°-180°C.El producto que consiste en una sal de 5-(alcoximetil)-piridina-2,3- dicarboxilato es un importante intermediario en la manufactura de agentesherbicidas de piridina imidazolinona.
