Abstract
Un sistema de telecomunicación celular satelital mejorado para telefonía y transmisión de datos facilita la cobertura satelital doble sobre por lo menos85% de la tierra. Este sistema mejorado permite la comunicación con teléfonos manuales ymóvile s (120). El sistema permite comunicaciones en dos sentidosen cualquier lugar sobre la tierra o por encima de ella hasta una altura específica por arriba de la tierra de varios cientos de millas marinas. Elsistema emplea un ciertonúmero de sat élites (12) que circundan la tierra en órbita baja. Los satélites (12) están inclinados en un ángulo de entre 30 y 90grados. Los enlaces (102) son proporcionados desde los satélites directamente a los usuarios (120) y a través de lared telefónica pública de líneas conmutadas(20) a otros usuarios. Los satélites (12) se hallan interconectados mediante enlaces en una estructura de anillo que circunda la tierra. La conmutación esejecutada por cada uno de los satélites (12).
