Abstract
El manipuleo directo de la acroleína con el objeto de combatir los organismos nocivos microbianos, vegetales y animales, presentes en el agua y enel suelo, es problématico, debido al peligro potencial que presenta la acroleína. De acuerdo con la invención se utiliza una composición fácilmentemanipulable, apta para liberar acroleína, mediante la cual la acroleína es liberada en el lugar de su aplicación al entrar en contacto con agua. Lacomposición de acuerdo con la invención contiene: (i) un acetal de la acroleína con un alcohol de 1 a 6 átomos de carbono con de 1 a 4 grupos hidroxilo, (ii)un ácido, soluble en (i) y químicamente compatible con (i), el cual presenta un valor de pKa inferior a (4) e (iii) eventualmenteun agente tensioactivo. Unacomposición preferida es la que contiene, en calidad de acetal: 2-vinil-1,3-dioxolano; en calidad de ácido: ácido oxálico, ácido fumárico oácido maleico, o una mezcla de mono- y di(C1-C3)alquilfosfatos y adicionalmente un agente tensio-activo no iónico.
