Abstract

Invented are 17 and 17 substituted acyl-3-carboxy -3,5-diene analogues of steroidal synthetic comounds, pharmaceutical compositions containing these compounds, and methods for using these compounds to inhibit steroid 5 reductase. Also invented are intermediates and processes used in preparing these compounds.
