Description

텔레비전 시청자 프로파일을 생성하는 방법 및 장치{Method and apparatus for creating a television viewer profile}

    상기 제 1 시청 상태가 상기 시청자 프로파일 목록 내에 존재하지 않는다면, 상기 제 1 시청 상태와 상기 제 1 시청 상태의 범주 시간 지속 기간들을 상기 시청자 프로파일 목록 내의 대응하는 범주 시청 시간 카운터들에 부가하는 단계를 더 포함하는 모니터링 방법.
  5. 제 1 항에 있어서,
    상기 제 1 시청 상태의 시간 지속 기간 결정 단계는,
    제 1 시청 상태에 대한 시작 시간을 저장하는 단계;
    제 2 시청 상태에 대한 시작 시간을 저장하는 단계; 및
    상기 제 2 시청 상태에 대한 시작 시간에서 상기 제 1 시청 상태에 대한 시작 시간을 뺌으로써 상기 제 1 시청 상태의 시간 지속 기간을 결정하는 단계를 포함하는, 모니터링 방법.
  6. 제 1 항에 있어서,
    상기 제 1 시청 상태의 시간 지속 기간을 결정하는 단계는,
    상기 제 1 시청 상태에 대한 시작 시간에서 타이머를 개시하는 단계; 및
    상기 타이머에 따라서 상기 제 1 시청 상태의 시간 지속 기간을 결정하는 단계를 포함하는, 모니터링 방법.
  7. 시청 행동을 모니터링하는 장치에 있어서,
    미리 결정된 수의 선호하는 시청 상태들을 저장하기 위한 시청자 프로파일 목록을 확립하는 수단;
    제 1 시청 상태의 시간 지속 기간을 계산하는 수단;
    상기 제 1 시청 상태가 상기 시청자 프로파일 목록 내에 포함되어 있는지 여부를 결정하는 수단;
    상기 제 1 시청 상태가 상기 시청자 프로파일 목록 내에 포함되어 있다면, 상기 제 1 시청 상태의 시간 지속 기간을 상기 시청자 프로파일 목록 내의 상기 제 1 시청 상태에 대한 총 시청 시간 카운터에 부가하는 수단; 및
    상기 제 1 시청 상태가 상기 시청자 프로파일 목록 내에 포함되어 있지 않다면, 상기 제 1 시청 상태와 상기 제 1 시청 상태의 상기 시간 지속 기간을 상기 시청자 프로파일 목록에 부가하는 수단을 포함하는 모니터링 장치.
  8. 제 7 항에 있어서,
    상기 제 1 시청 상태가 상기 시청자 프로파일 목록에 부가될 때 상기 시청자 프로파일 목록이 가득 차면, 상기 시청자 프로파일 목록으로부터 최소로 선호되는 시청 상태를 삭제하는 수단을 더 포함하는 모니터링 장치.
  9. 제 7 항에 있어서,
    상기 제 1 시청 상태의 시간 지속 기간을 미리 결정된 시간 단위와 비교하는 수단; 및
    상기 시간 지속 기간이 상기 미리 결정된 시간 단위를 초과하는 경우에만, 상기 제 1 시청 상태의 시간 지속 기간을 상기 시청자 프로파일 목록에 부가하는 수단을 더 포함하는 모니터링 장치.
  10. 제 7 항에 있어서,
    상기 제 1 시청 상태의 시간 지속 기간을, 텔레비전 프로그램의 미리 결정된 수의 범주들에 대응하는 미리 결정된 수의 범주 시간 지속 기간들로 분할하는 수단;
    상기 제 1 시청 상태가 상기 시청자 프로파일 목록 내에 존재한다면, 상기 제 1 시청 상태의 범주 시간 지속 기간들을 상기 시청자 프로파일 목록 내의 미리 결정된 수의 대응하는 범주 시청 시간 카운터들에 부가하는 수단; 및
    상기 제 1 시청 상태가 상기 시청자 프로파일 목록 내에 존재하지 않는다면, 상기 제 1 시청 상태와 상기 제 1 시청 상태의 범주 시간 지속 기간들을 상기 시청자 프로파일 목록 내의 대응하는 범주 시청 시간 카운터들에 부가하는 수단을 더 포함하는 모니터링 장치.
  11. 시청 행동을 모니터링하도록 컴퓨터에 명령하는데 이용될 수 있는 컴퓨터 판독 가능한 매체로서,
    미리 결정된 수의 선호하는 시청 상태들을 저장하기 위한 시청자 프로파일 목록을 확립하는 단계;
    제 1 시청 상태의 시간 지속 기간을 계산하는 단계;
    상기 제 1 시청 상태가 상기 시청자 프로파일 목록 내에 포함되어 있는지 여부를 결정하는 단계;
    상기 제 1 시청 상태가 상기 시청자 프로파일 목록 내에 포함되어 있다면, 상기 제 1 시청 상태의 시간 지속 기간을 상기 시청자 프로파일 목록 내의 상기 제 1 시청 상태에 대한 총 시청 시간 카운터에 부가하는 단계; 및
    상기 제 1 시청 상태가 상기 시청자 프로파일 목록 내에 포함되어 있지 않다면, 상기 제 1 시청 상태와 상기 제 1 시청 상태의 상기 시간 지속 기간을 상기 시청자 프로파일 목록에 부가하는 단계를 상기 컴퓨터가 수행하도록 하기 위한 프로그램 코드들을 가지는 컴퓨터 판독 가능한 매체.
  12. 제 11 항에 있어서,
    상기 프로그램 코드는,
    상기 제 1 시청 상태가 상기 시청자 프로파일 목록에 부가될 때, 상기 시청자 프로파일 목록이 가득 차면, 최소로 선호되는 시청 상태를 상기 시청자 프로파일 목록으로부터 삭제하는 단계를 상기 컴퓨터가 수행하게 하는, 컴퓨터 판독 가능한 매체.
  13. 제 11 항에 있어서,
    상기 프로그램 코드는,
    상기 제 1 시청 상태의 시간 지속 기간을 미리 결정된 시간 단위와 비교하는 단계; 및
    상기 시간 지속 기간이 상기 미리 결정된 시간 단위를 초과하는 경우에만, 상기 제 1 시청 상태의 시간 지속 기간을 상기 시청자 프로파일 목록에 부가하는 단계를 상기 컴퓨터가 수행하게 하는, 컴퓨터 판독 가능한 매체.
  14. 제 11 항에 있어서,
    상기 프로그램 코드는,
    상기 제 1 시청 상태의 시간 지속 기간을, 텔레비전 프로그램의 미리 결정된 수의 범주들에 대응하는 미리 결정된 수의 범주 시간 지속 기간들로 분할하는 단계;
    상기 제 1 시청 상태가 상기 시청자 프로파일 목록 내에 존재한다면, 상기 제 1 시청 상태의 범주 시간 지속 기간들을 상기 시청자 프로파일 목록 내의 미리 결정된 수의 대응하는 범주 시청 시간 카운터들에 부가하는 단계; 및
    상기 제 1 시청 상태가 상기 시청자 프로파일 목록 내에 존재하지 않는다면, 상기 제 1 시청 상태와 상기 제 1 시청 상태의 범주 시간 지속 기간들을 상기 시청자 프로파일 목록 내의 대응하는 범주 시청 시간 카운터들에 부가하는 단계를 상기 컴퓨터가 수행하게 하는, 컴퓨터 판독가능 매체.
  15. 프로그램 안내 정보를 텔레비전의 스크린 상에 디스플레이하는 방법에 있어서,
    시청자의 시청 행동을 모니터링하는 단계;
    상기 시청자의 시청 행동에 따라 상기 시청자의 적어도 하나의 선호하는 시청 상태를 결정하는 단계;
    상기 시청자의 상기 적어도 하나의 선호하는 시청 상태에 따라 상기 프로그램 안내 정보를 구성하는 단계; 및
    상기 구성된 프로그램 안내 정보를 상기 텔레비전의 스크린 상에 디스플레이하는 단계를 포함하고,
    상기 모니터링하는 단계는,
    미리 결정된 수의 시청 상태들을 저장하기 위한 시청자 프로파일 목록을 확립하는 단계와,
    제 1 시청 상태의 시간 지속 기간을 계산하는 단계와,
    상기 제 1 시청 상태가 상기 시청자 프로파일 목록 내에 포함되어 있는지 여부를 결정하는 단계와,
    상기 제 1 시청 상태가 상기 시청자 프로파일 목록 내에 포함되어 있다면, 상기 제 1 시청 상태의 시간 지속 기간을 상기 시청자 프로파일 목록 내의 상기 제 1 시청 상태에 대한 총 시청 시간 카운터에 부가하는 단계와,
    상기 제 1 시청 상태가 상기 시청자 프로파일 목록 내에 포함되어 있지 않다면, 상기 제 1 시청 상태 및 상기 제 1 시청 상태의 시간 지속 기간을 상기 시청자 프로파일 목록에 부가하는 단계를 포함하는, 디스플레이 방법.
  16. 인터넷으로부터의 정보를 텔레비전 스크린 상에 디스플레이하는 방법에 있어서,
    시청자의 시청 행동을 모니터링하는 단계;
    상기 시청자의 시청 행동에 따라 상기 시청자의 적어도 하나의 선호하는 시청 상태를 결정하는 단계;
    상기 시청자의 상기 적어도 하나의 선호하는 시청 상태에 따라 상기 인터넷으로부터의 정보를 얻는 단계; 및
    상기 인터넷으로부터 얻은 정보를 상기 텔레비전의 스크린 상에 디스플레이하는 단계를 포함하고,
    상기 모니터링하는 단계는,
    미리 결정된 수의 시청 상태들을 저장하기 위한 시청자 프로파일 목록을 확립하는 단계와,
    제 1 시청 상태의 시간 지속 기간을 계산하는 단계와,
    상기 제 1 시청 상태가 상기 시청자 프로파일 목록 내에 포함되어 있는지 여부를 결정하는 단계와,
    상기 제 1 시청 상태가 상기 시청자 프로파일 목록 내에 포함되어 있다면, 상기 제 1 시청 상태의 시간 지속 기간을 상기 시청자 프로파일 목록 내의 상기 제 1 시청 상태에 대한 총 시청 시간 카운터에 부가하는 단계와,
    상기 제 1 시청 상태가 상기 시청자 프로파일 목록 내에 포함되어 있지 않다면, 상기 제 1 시청 상태 및 상기 제 1 시청 상태의 상기 시간 지속 기간을 상기 시청자 프로파일 목록에 부가하는 단계를 포함하는, 디스플레이 방법.
  17. 텔레비전에 결합하도록 적응된 셋-톱 유닛에서, 프로그램 안내 정보를 텔레비전의 스크린 상에 디스플레이하는 장치에 있어서,
    시청자 채널 선호들을 결정하기 위해 텔레비전 시청 행동을 모니터링하는 수단으로서,
    미리 결정된 수의 선호하는 채널들을 저장하기 위한 시청자 프로파일 목록을 확립하는 수단과,
    제 1 채널이 시청되는 시간 지속 기간을 계산하는 수단과,
    상기 제 1 채널이 상기 시청자 프로파일 목록 내에 포함되어 있는지 여부를 결정하는 수단과,
    상기 제 1 채널이 상기 시청자 프로파일 목록 내에 포함되어 있다면, 상기 제 1 채널이 시청되는 시간 지속 기간을 상기 시청자 프로파일 목록 내의 상기 제 1 채널에 대한 총 시청 시간 카운터에 부가하는 수단과,
    상기 제 1 채널이 상기 시청자 프로파일 목록 내에 포함되어 있지 않다면, 상기 제 1 채널과 상기 제 1 채널이 시청되는 상기 시간 지속 기간을 상기 시청자 프로파일 목록에 부가하는 수단을 포함하는 상기 모니터링 수단;
    상기 시청자의 시청 행동에 따라 상기 시청자의 선호 채널들을 결정하는 수단;
    상기 시청자의 선호 채널들에 따라 상기 프로그램 안내 정보를 구성하는 수단; 및
    상기 구성된 프로그램 안내 정보를 상기 텔레비전 스크린 상에 디스플레이하는 수단을 포함하는 프로그램 안내 정보 디스플레이 장치.
  18. 제 17 항에 있어서, 상기 모니터링하는 수단은,
    상기 제 1 채널이 시청되는 시간 지속 기간을, 텔레비전 프로그램의 미리 결정된 수의 범주들에 대응하는 미리 결정된 수의 범주 시간 지속 기간들로 분할하는 수단;
    상기 제 1 채널이 상기 시청자 프로파일 목록 내에 있다면, 상기 제 1 채널의 범주 시간 지속 기간들을 상기 시청자 프로파일 목록 내의 미리 결정된 수의 대응하는 범주 시청 시간 카운터들에 부가하는 수단; 및
    상기 제 1 채널이 상기 시청자 프로파일 목록 내에 없다면, 상기 제 1 채널 및 상기 제 1 채널의 범주 시간 지속 기간들을 상기 시청자 프로파일 목록 내의 상기 대응하는 범주 시청 시간 카운터들에 부가하는 수단을 더 포함하는, 프로그램 안내 정보 디스플레이 장치.
