Abstract

PURPOSE:To always keep the optical signal level on an optical bus constant by always inputting DC light in a certain level from a light source onto the optical bus and modulating the DC light on the optical bus in accordance with transmission data by each terminal. CONSTITUTION:A light emitting source 10 is provided in one end of an optical fiber 20 constituting the optical bus, and the DC light in a certain level is always inputted from this light emitting source 10 to the optical fiber. Optical switches are provided on the optical fiber 20 correspondingly to respective terminals, and each terminal turns on and off the optical switch in accordance with transmission data to modulate the DC light on the optical bus at the time of transmitting data. Thus, the optical level in an optical receiver provided in the other end of the optical bus is fixed, and especially, it is unnecessary to adjust the optical level of the reception optical signal from each terminal to a certain value at a reception point.
