Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve fuel consumption by disposing a solenoid valve in each of air passages which bypass a throttle valve and selectively opening or closing each solenoid valve, thereby controlling a range of idling r.p.m. to the minimum required.
CONSTITUTION: Auxiliary air control solenoid valves 11, 12 are respectively disposed in two air passages which bypass a throttle valve 4 of a carburetor and controlled by a control circuit 20. This control circuit 20 calculates an amount of fuel injection on the bases of signals of a suction air quantity sensor 8, a water temperature sensor 9 and a running speed sensor 10 to selectively control valve opening timings of electromagnetic fuel injection valves 5 and said control valves 11, 12, thereby regulating the quantity of fuel injection. If flow rates of air passing through the valves 11, 12 are 1m3/hr and Zm3/hr, respectively, a selective opening or closing of the valve 11 or 12 may provide a control of the amount of air in a unit of 1m3/hr such as 0, 1, 2, 3m3/hr.
