Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a method of controlling revolutional speed of internal combustion engine, according to which a by-pass passage having a control valve is connected to the intake passage of engine and said control valve is feedback controlled by various signals so as to keep the revolutional speed of engine at a desired value at the time of idling and deceleration.
CONSTITUTION: Intake passage 11 having throttle valve 12 is connected to engine 10 and a by-pass passage 13 by-passing the throttle valve 12 is in turn connected to the intake passage 11. In the by-pass passage 13, there is provided a control valve 14 driven by actuator 15. Further, there is provided a control circuit 17 which is furnished with signals from sensor 19 for detecting the opening of throttle valve 12, water-temperature sensor 21 and velocity sensor 24 for comparing the actual revolutional speed of engine with a desired speed. In response to the result of the above comparison, actuator 15 is driven to effect feedback control so that amount of air supplied to engine 10 is adjusted to suit the desired revolutional speed of engine 10.
