Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce a shock at the time of the return of fuel by increasing the supply quantity of fuel gradually from the amount less than the ordinary quantity in accordance with the passage of time at the time of the return of fuel in a controlling method for supply of fuel.
CONSTITUTION: Suction air is controlled in terms of its flow rate by a throttle valve 18 and led to a suction valve 22 and a combustion chamber 14. A fuel injection valve 24 is opened and closed by a control circuit 28, while an air flow sensor 32 detects the quantity of suction air and delivers the same to the control circuit. A rotational-angle sensor 38 sends the rotational angle of a crank shaft to the control circuit 28 and a water-temperature sensor 42 also sends the temperature of cooling water to the circuit 28. When the throttle valve 18 turns into the 2nd operational condition, while maintaining the state of full-closure after stoppage of the supply of fuel, the supply of fuel is started from the quantity less than the ordinary quantity of supply by the control circuit 28 and then it is increased in accordance with the passage of time. In this way, the shock at the time of the return of fuel can be reduced.
