Abstract

PURPOSE: To bring engine output close to maximum output value by comparing rotary cycles when at least two different air fuel ratio values are selected near a target air fuel ratio for running.
CONSTITUTION: A microcomputer type calculating circuit 6 energized by a battery 7 on a vehicle and driven by a power circuit 8 is provided to carry out calculating processes of respective base, rich and lean steps and comparative judgment. And rotaty cycles are compared when at least two different air fuel ratio values are selected near a target air fuel ratio for running. Namely, base fuel injection pulse width is figured out in the calculating circuit 6 according to signals of an intake pipe pressure sensor 3, and correction pulse width is added to said pulse width to obtain fuel injection pulse width. Further the signal of this pulse width is supplied to an injection valve 5 which is driven by signals of rotational angle sensor 4 synchronized with the rotation of internal combustion engine body 1 to intermittently inject fuel.
