Abstract
PURPOSE:To detect assuredly the diamond granule with no deterioration of S/N, by setting two pairs of projectors and photodetectors to a guide pipe functioning as a guide path of the diamond granule and detecting the pass of the diamond granule. CONSTITUTION:Two detecting parts are provided with a prescribed space to a guide pipe 3 functioning as a guide path of the diamond granule. Each detecting parts is formed with a transparent matter, and at the same time a disk-shape optical device is set outside the detecting part. When the diamond granule 1 having a surface 25 colored black passes the detecting parts of the pipe 3, either one or both of the light beams of the projectors 21 and 22 are cut off. Thus the quantity of light received at the photodetectors 23 and 24 varies. Then the speed is detected for the granule 1 from the space between the changed signals of the detectors 23 and 24 at the two detecting parts.
