Abstract

PURPOSE:To realize a development with higher efficiency, by using a magnetic field generating source which changes at a high speed different from the magnet of a magnet roll and shifting and returning magnetically the generating source from the surface of a mahnet roll to the surface of a photosensitive drum. CONSTITUTION:The polarized toner 5 is filled in a container 4 of a developing device 3, and a roller type magnet 6 magnetized at N and S poles is set in the container 4. Furthermore a nonmagnetic sleeve 7 is set rotatably so as to cover the outer circumference of the magnet 6. Thus the magnet 6 turns in the direction of an arrow 8 and at a speed equal to a drum 1. A groove part 9 is formed at the magnet 6 and in its axial direction, and a coil 10 is set into the part 9. The line of magnetic force delivered from the N pole and returns to the S pole of the fixed magnet 6 is delivered radially form the sleve7 and returned raidally to the sleeve 7. Then the toner layer 5 formed on the sleeve is controlled to a proper thickness via a doctor part 11 which goes near the sleeve according to the rotation of the sleeve.
