Abstract
PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for the well of a toner and to develop the toner of relatively high electric resistance easily by forming the toner in a thin layer and reducing the spacing between a photosensitive drum and a sleeve similarly to the thickness of the toner layer. CONSTITUTION:A developing roller is constituted of a cylindrical sleeve 1 consisting of a non-magnetic material, and a magnet roller 2 which is provided freely rotatably in said sleeve 1 and of which the magnetic poles on the outside circumference are magnetized successively differently. The spacing A between the sleeve 1 and a photosensitive drum 4 is reduced and a toner layer thickness B is correspondingly reduced. Electrostatic charge is induced early in a toner 3 by electrostatic induction and inductive polarization, whereby it is attracted on the electrostatic latent images of the drum 4 and the toner images are formed.
