PURPOSE:To maintain the tapping hot-water temperature at a set point by a method wherein the feed water amount is kept at maximum and the fuel amount is controlled in normal cases, whereas the fuel amount is kept at maximum and the feed water amount is controlled in a severe winter. CONSTITUTION:The temperature Ti of the feed water supplied to a heat exchanger 1 is detected by a feed water temperature sensor 2, and the tapping hot- water temperature TO is detected by a tapping hot-water temperature sensor 3. The feed water temperature Ti is inputted into a control part 11 as it is, while the tapping hot-water temperature TO is compared to the set point TSP by a calculating part 6 and an output from the latter 6 is inputted into the control part 11. In normal cases, a fuel regulating part 4 for a combustor 5 is solely controlled. In a severe winter, when the tapping hot-water temperature TO does not reach the set point TSP, a timer 10 feeds a signal to the control part 11 after a preset period of time R is elapsed, and the control part 11 maintains the fuel regulating part 4 in the maximum-amount condition and controls a feed water valve 8.
