Abstract

PURPOSE:To heat material to be heated in an annealing furnace efficiently with small amount of fuel, by calculating the heat quantity generated from fuel and the heat quantity absorbed by the material to be heated on the basis of the flow rate of the fuel, and controlling the temp. in the furnace constantly according to the existing state. CONSTITUTION:Specification of a coil 6 to be heated and annealing conditions are fed to a setting means 7, and prescribed calculation is performed at each unit time by a calculating means 8. On the basis of the calculation, maximum heating efficiency is determined, and desired value of furnace temp., at which the fuel consumption is reduced extremely, is obtained. The desired value of the furnace temp. obtained is sent each time to a controller 10 for furnace temp., and a fuel flow valve 11 is controlled by said controller 10 in order to make the furnace temp. coincide with said desired value. When the coil 6 is heated to the desired heating temp. defined by the annealing conditions, heating is stopped at once thereby preventing excess heating. In figure, 1 is a furnace, 2 is an inner cover, 3 is a burner, and 4 is thermometer.
