Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve remarkably the air heating effect and dehumidifying effect by bringing first the air in the passenger compartment into contact with the external air for the purpose of rapid cooling and dehumidification and then feeding the cooled air to a heater unit and discharging thus heated air into the passenger compartment. CONSTITUTION:In the air heating when a fan is actuated and a shutter 7a is opened, the warm air in the passenger compartment is introduced from an air outlet 7 through a duct 3 and a heater opening into the heater unit 1. In this instance, as the duct 3 has a plurality of external air inlets 4a through which the external air is taken therein, the hot air of the passenger compartment is brought into contact with the cool external air while it is flowing through the duct 3 and rapidly cooled and dehumidified. Thus cooled and dehumidified air is then fed into the heater unit 1, where it is heated by a heater core 1a, and finally discharged into the passenger compartment out of an air discharge opening 1b. Thus the heat efficiency can be much improved and the window clouding can be prevented to a great extent due to the low humidity of the heated air.
