Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve color transient response characteristics such as clearness and fineness for color signals.
CONSTITUTION: Composite color TV signals are detected in a 2 and are separated into chrominance signals and luminance signals by filter 3 and trap 6. The former is applied to AM circuit 4 and is modulated by modulation signals from terminal 13. Then, it is subjected to color demodulation 5, and three kinds of color difference signal are subjected to matrix with luminance (Y) signals by output-stage matrix circuit 12, and three kinds of primary signal improved in color transient response characteristics are obtained. Meanwhile, Y signals from circuit 6 are divided into two, and divided one is applied to circuit 12 through picture quality adjustment circuit 11, and the other is applied to a modulation signal generation circuit to obtain modulation signals, which are generated by high-band frequency components of luminance, at output terminal 13. The chrominance signals above are modulated by these obtained signals, thus improving characteristics as the above.
