Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent laser from unstable operation due to reflection of light, without using a light isolator nor a reflection preventing film, by appropriately determining the relatiue value between laser output light reflecting surface and a resonator length.
CONSTITUTION: An output light 10 of a semiconductor laser 1 is gathered by a lens system 2 and combined with a photo-element 40 of a phto-fiber, etc. A part of the output light 10 is reflected by light-entering end surface of the element 40, turned into a reflecting light 11 by being gathered by the lens 2 and combined with a laser 1. when a photo-resonator length of laser 1 and a photo distance L between laser radiation end surface 5 and light-entering end surface 4 of the element 400 are set to (m+0.2)LD≤La≤(m+0.8)LD(m=0, 1, 2...), fluctuation of light output is not excessively increased even at the time when the reflection light 11 returned to laser 1 stabilizing the function of the laser. Further, the photo-resonator length and the photo-distance are to be obtained by multiplying the actual length and distance over refraction of the medium.
