PURPOSE:To obtain the balanced modulation output of the R-Y or B-Y color difference signal component through a simple constitution, by giving supperssion to the subcarrier component emerging at the output of each adder/mixer circuit with the subcarrier suppression signal. CONSTITUTION:For the composite video signal generator in the color TV display unit or the like, subcarrier oscillator 1 generates the subcarrier of 3.58MHz. And switch circuits 5, 6, 8 and 9 give the 180 deg.-switching properly to the subcarrier signal based on either one of R and B color signals. The subcarrier signals obtained from these circuits 5, 6, 8 and 9 are mixed at adder/mixer circuits 17 and 18 with the addition signals added in the fixed rate of each color signal. At the same time, the subcarrier components emerging at the output of circuits 17 and 18 are supperessed by the output of subcarrier suppression signal generator 25. As a result, the balanced modulation output of the R-Y or R-Y color difference signal component can be obtained through a simple constitution.
