Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide the images of high density having high gradation characteristic by forming a repulsive magnetic field in the opposing part and applying alternating fields to the clearance at the time of performing development by holding a non-magnetic turning body and a latent image forming body while maintaining a clearance.
CONSTITUTION: A latent image forming body 1 having an insulation layer has a back electrode 2 and there is a stationary permanent magnet 6 in a non-magnetic sleeve 3 and magnetic poles 6a forming the repulsive magnetic field are provided in this magnet 6. Magnetic toner 7 is put in a toner vessel 8 and the thickness of the toner on the sleeve 3 is controlled by a magnetic material blade 9. The toner 7 is conveyed to the development position A by the revolution of the sleeve 3 and are applied with alternating fields by a power source 10 in the position A. With the back electrode 2 as an earth potential, the alternating fields are applied to the sleeve 3 and magnetic blade 8. The good sensible images of superior line reproducibility are obtained by such setting.
