前記したイメージングデバイスを用いる正確な診断では、適切なオプティックスを用いて、表面反射から生じるノイズを排除することができる。図4は光源(LS)、倍率選択メカニズム(MS)、接眼レンズ(EP)およびイメージ取り込みモジュール(CA)、(ディテクター(類)、リードアウトエレクトロニクス等)を取り付けるためのマウントを含む医療顕微鏡の模式的ダイアグラムを示す。表面反射を排除するには、直線偏光子の対を使用する。源からの光は直線偏光子(LPO)を通過し、直線偏光された光(LS)が得られ、次いで、組織に衝突する、表面反射された光(TS)は入射光線と同一の偏光面を有する(フレスネル反射)。第1のものに対して直角向きのもう1つの直線偏光子(IPO)を組織から発せられた光の経路に置くことによって、表面反射された光の寄与は排除される。表面反射されなかった光は組織に進入し、そこで、複数の散乱により光偏光がランダム化される。次いで、再発光された光の一部はイメージング偏光オプティックスを通過し、表面下特徴についての改良された情報を運ぶ。

もしイメージング装置のイリュミネーターが直線偏光された光を発するならば、複数反射は入射光の偏光面をランダム化する。前記したごとく、もし組織に衝突する光が直線偏光されないならば、イメージに対する表面反射の寄与の排除は効果的とはなり得ない。

Claims (38)
- 動的光学特性をイン・ビボ測定及びマッピングするイメージングシステムであって、
a.分析対象の生体組織試料からの発光を収集して焦点処理する光学機器と、
薬剤の利用前後に生体組織試料の複数のイメージを捕獲するためのデータデジタル化ボード及びコンピュータに接続されたイメージング検出器とを含んだ光学イメージングヘッドと、
b.分析対象の生体組織試料に病理区別剤を適用するアプリケータと、
c.データ保存、処理及び分析ソフトウェア並びにハードウェアを含んだコンピュータと、
d.イメージ、データ曲線及び数値データを表示するモニターと、
e.ブロードバンドの連続波光線で生体組織試料を照射する光源と、
f.イメージング及び照明のスペクトルバンドを選択するための光学フィルターと、
を含んで構成され、本イメージングシステムは、前記イメージ内、画素値が記録された時刻(ti)の対応する空間座標XYに位置する任意のXY空間位置及び画素値PVXYから、検査対象生体組織試料のいかなる空間位置で得られる画素値(PVXY)対時間の曲線のモデル化並びにパラメータ分析も実行するようにプログラムされており、前記曲線から動的光学特性を表すパラメータを計算し、動的光学特性を表す前記パラメータの空間分布を表すイメージを創出して表示することを特徴とするシステム。 - 発光収集及び焦点処理する光学機器はレンズ、医療顕微鏡、外科顕微鏡及び膣鏡から選択されることを特徴とする請求項1記載のシステム。
