Description

The present invention relates to a television receiver that automatically switches functions or operation functions such as image quality and sound quality in accordance with the environment such as the brightness and size of the installation location of the receiver.

In general, a television receiver has image quality such as video contrast, sharpness, and high / low sound according to the environment such as the brightness and size of the installation location and the content of the video signal received by the television receiver. It has a function to switch sound quality. In the conventional television receiver, the user has to manually switch the function and adjust the image quality / sound quality according to the situation at that time by using the remote controller.

As a measure to improve this, a television receiver that detects ambient brightness with a brightness sensor provided in the receiver and automatically controls the screen brightness according to the detection output of the brightness sensor is known. (For example, refer to Patent Document 1).
Also, the user sets the output video characteristics (brightness) or output audio characteristics (volume) according to the genre of the broadcast content such as movies, news, music, etc., detects the received broadcast content, and according to the genre There is also known a television receiver that automatically switches output video characteristics (luminance) or output audio characteristics (volume) (see, for example, Patent Document 2).

However, in the above conventional example, there is no function for detecting the display status such that the place of use is a storefront, and it is impossible to set the image quality / sound quality desired to be set only at the storefront display. The store display state referred to here is much more light than a general household environment and is often a large space. Conventionally, it has not been possible to automatically set image quality and sound quality suitable for bright and wide storefronts, or to turn on functions that only work in storefront display conditions.
Also, in digital terrestrial broadcasting and satellite digital broadcasting, a broadcast service cannot be normally received unless a CAS (Conditional Access System) card, which is an IC card connecting a user and a broadcasting station, is inserted into the receiving device. ing. Although this CAS card has a user-specific number (ID) registered, it has been used only for broadcasting services so far.

The object of the present invention is to automatically switch the image quality / sound quality or function to be set only in the store display by making it possible to determine whether or not the television receiver is in the store display state using a CAS card. It is something that can be done.
Note that the television receiver described in the present invention is not limited to the one that receives broadcast radio waves and displays video, but also includes a receiver that does not include a tuner and displays content recorded on a recording medium such as a DVD. In short, it includes everything that receives a signal and displays an image.

The television receiver according to the present invention includes an ID detection means for detecting the ID of the CAS card, a detection means for inputting the detection result from the ID detection means, and for determining the type of the CAS card, and a determination result by the determination means. And a control means for switching the function of the image receiving circuit.

Since the present invention makes it possible to easily determine the store display state using a CAS card, it is desirable to automatically set image quality and sound quality suitable for bright and wide store locations, or to work only in the store display state. There is an effect that the function can be turned on.

Embodiment 1
FIG. 1 is a block diagram showing Embodiment 1 of the present invention. An ID detection means 1 for detecting an ID of a CAS card and a result of ID detection from the ID detection means 1 show a CAS card at a store display. Card discriminating means 2 for discriminating whether the card is for TV or general viewing, and control for switching the image quality and sound quality stored in the memory 5 or the state of the additional function based on the result of discriminating the type of CAS card Means 3 and an image receiving circuit 4 for outputting the result of the function switched by the control means 3 are provided.

In FIG. 1, an ID detection unit 1 transmits, for example, a card slot provided in a television receiver, a function of reading ID information of a CAS card obtained through the card slot, and the ID information to the card determination unit 2. With functions. The ID information of the CAS card transmitted from the ID detector 1 is received by the card discriminator 2, but the card discriminator 2 includes a microcomputer, and the ID detected and transmitted by the ID detector 1 is transmitted. By comparing the information with the number system information of the ID information originally stored by the microcomputer, it is possible to determine whether the CAS card having the ID information is a store-exhibiting TV dedicated card or a general viewing card.

Based on the result of the card type discriminated by the card discriminating means 2, the control means 3 can automatically set the image quality / sound quality suitable for store display when the card is for store display TV. Then, the data is read out and the image quality or sound quality state of the image receiving circuit 4 is switched.
The memory 5 includes general viewing data 51 and store display data 52. The general viewing data 51 is suitable for a room such as a living room or a bedroom according to program broadcast contents such as movies, news, and music. Brightness, hue, volume, and sound quality are set and stored. In addition, store display data 52 stores data with image quality that is higher in brightness and color than general viewing data 51, and data that makes it easier to hear high and low sounds.
Here, the storefront display state has much more light than a general household environment and is often a large space. In the case of a receiving device such as a television, it is possible to appeal the viewer to better image quality by increasing the screen brightness or increasing the color tone in a bright environment. In addition, by equalizing high and low tones that are easy to hear in a wide space, it is possible to appeal the good sound quality.
Therefore, when it is determined that the store is in the store display state, it is possible to set the image quality / sound quality that is appealing to the viewer and is very bright and easy to hear in the store display even if it is not suitable for general viewing at home.

In addition, a receiving device such as a television often has a video mode so that the image quality and sound quality can be switched in advance with one touch according to the content of the video and the viewing environment. A plurality of preset equalizations of the brightness and color of the video, and the high and low tones of the sound quality, for example, with names such as the high-bright mode, standard mode, and cinema mode, are switched with one touch.
In the store display data 52 of the present invention, a bright image quality / easy sound quality mode dedicated to the store display state referred to as the store display mode is prepared in such a video mode, and the mode is switched to that mode. Good.

FIG. 2 is a flowchart for simply explaining the control in the first embodiment of the present invention. First, in step S101, the card identification unit 2 receives the CAS card ID detected by the ID detection unit 1. In step S102, the card determination means 2 determines whether or not ID information has been acquired as a result of reception. If ID information has been acquired, the process proceeds to step S103. If ID information has not been acquired, the process returns to step S101. In step S103, the card discriminating means 2 discriminates whether or not the ID information is for the store display card. As a result, if the card is for the storefront display card, the process proceeds to step S104. If the card is not for store display but a general viewing card, it ends with END. In step S104, the control means 3 reads out the video mode or the image quality / sound quality adjustment from the store display data 52 in the memory 5 to a store display dedicated one. In step S <b> 105, the image quality / sound quality dedicated to store display read out from the memory 5 is output to the image receiving circuit 4. In this way, the image receiving circuit 4 can broadcast at a bright and wide storefront display with an image quality and sound quality that is appealing to viewers and is very bright and easy to hear.

Embodiment 2
FIG. 3 is a configuration diagram showing the second embodiment of the present invention, in which store-front display demo content 53 is added to the memory 5 in the configuration of the first embodiment. Other configurations are the same as those of the first embodiment shown in FIG.
In this way, if the demo content 53 for store display of moving images and still images is preliminarily incorporated in the receiving device on the premise that it is broadcast only at the store, the demo content can be broadcast only at the store display by the control means 3. Thus, the function of the receiving device can be appealed to the viewer at the store. Such a demo function is disabled by the control means 3 when a general viewing card is inserted into the receiving device, so that it does not inadvertently operate during general viewing at home.
In the second embodiment, both the store display data 52 and the store display demo content 53 are built in the receiving device. In this configuration, when the store display dedicated card is detected, the control means 3 Is separately required to determine whether to switch to store display data 52 or store display demo content 53. Accordingly, if the store display demo content 53 is provided in place of the store display data 52, that is, if only the store display demo content 53 is provided, a switch is unnecessary and the configuration is simplified.
In addition, a receiving apparatus such as a television often has an on-screen menu that is displayed on the screen of the image receiving circuit 4 and can be operated by a remote controller as a means for switching functions, image quality, and sound quality. In the second embodiment, only when a storefront display card is detected, a menu item for switching ON / OFF of the display of storefront display data or the display of storefront demonstration content is displayed on the menu to reflect the data. Whether or not to display the demo contents may be arbitrarily selected. In this way, when a store-only display card is inserted, it is possible to select whether to display store display data or display demo contents, depending on the situation at hand. Can be determined.

Embodiment 3
FIG. 4 is a block diagram showing a third embodiment of the present invention, in which a timer circuit 6 is provided in the configuration of the first embodiment. Other configurations are the same as those of the first embodiment shown in FIG.
Even if the image quality and sound quality of the image receiving circuit 4 are manually adjusted, the timer circuit 6 detects that the CAS card is detected as a storefront display card and starts by detecting that the CAS card has been manually adjusted. After a predetermined time, the image quality and sound quality of the values set in the storefront display data 52 are restored.
In this way, if it is determined that the display condition is in the storefront state, the image quality and sound quality will be intentionally deteriorated at the storefront display by providing a function to return the adjustment values of the image quality and sound quality adjustment items to the default values for a certain period of time. Even if it is adjusted, the image quality and sound quality that can appeal to the viewer after a certain time can be restored. As a result, it is possible to prevent the bad image quality and sound quality from continuing at the store display.
In addition to returning the adjustment values of the image quality and sound quality adjustment items to the default values for a certain period of time, if the orientation of the receiving device is changed by the viewer, it is also received after a predetermined time if it is determined that the store display state. You may make it return the direction of an apparatus to an initial state.

Embodiment 4
The above describes switching the image quality / sound quality of the image receiving circuit 4 and switching the contents displayed on the image receiving circuit 4 to demo contents. However, the fourth embodiment of the present invention moves the receiving apparatus to the store display state. When there is a function that is not desired, the function is prevented from moving only when it is determined that the store is in the store display state. That is, after the control means 3 switches to the store display data 52 or the store display demo content 53, the function stop setting is set in the memory 5 so that at least a part of the functions of the image receiving circuit 4 cannot be operated. It is a thing.
For example, a receiving device such as a TV may have a function that allows the viewer to freely change the orientation of the receiving device using a remote control, but it is dangerous if the orientation of the receiving device changes at the store. In this case, the function is not operated by determining the store display state.
Also, if the viewer tries to change the direction of the receiver using the remote control, when the CAS card is detected as a storefront display card, “Thank you. This function is currently used. You can also send a telop that says "I can't, please ask the store clerk". In this way, the operation on the receiving apparatus side corresponding to the keys on the remote controller may be changed depending on the type of CAS card.

Embodiment 5
In the fifth embodiment of the present invention, when it is not desired to broadcast the specific content when the receiving apparatus is in the storefront display state, the specific content specified in advance is not allowed to flow only when it is determined that the store display state. 1, 3 and 4 are set in the memory 5.
For example, a receiving apparatus such as a digital television can acquire program content information. Therefore, when the content information of the received program is an adult content, the broadcast is stopped in the store display state.

Embodiment 6
