Abstract

528,486. Pouring spouts. ST. LAWRENCE STARCH CO., Ltd. May 8, 1939, No. 13751. Convention date, May 11, 1938. [Classes 21 and 66] A pouring spout B, Figs. 1, 2, fitted to an outlet opening 11, preferably of oval shape provided in the cover 10 of a metal container, is provided with a removable dished cover C. The spout, which is anchored to the inwardly turned edge 20 of the opening has an upwardly inclined curved pouring surface 13 leading to and disposed flush with a curved lip 16 projecting outwardly from the rim 18 of the cover and bridging the space between it and the upper edge of the container. The cover C engages over and corresponds in shape with the spout. In the construction shown in Fig. 11 the spout is formed integral with the end of a rectangular container, the pouring lip being directed to one of the corners.
