Abstract
362,751. Cans &c. ROBINSON, F. G., Canister Works, Southcoates Lane, Hull. Feb. 2, 1931, No. 3204. [Class 66.] Cans, drums, &c. of the kind having the outlet closed by a shallow recessed closure disc which has to be pierced to gain access to the contents are provided with spouts fitted non-rotatably into the recesses in the discs. The neck 4 of the spout 5, which may be of circular, rectangular, or other shape in section, is made a tight fit in the correspondinglyshaped recessed disc 3, and the lower end of the spout may be formed with an inwardly-projecting flange, or a cross-piece, or with one or more tongues such as 6, Fig. 4, adapted to be soldered to the upper face of the disc. The spout may, as shown in Fig. 9, be formed with a cylindrical portion for the reception of a cork or a screw-threaded closure plug. The lip of the spout is flush with or rests upon the rim of the can and is shaped to conform with the contour of the rim.
