Abstract

1451417 Adjustable furniture G KERSTHOLT and F KERSTHOLT 13 Feb 1974 [14 Feb 1973 9 March 1973 5 April 1973] 06469/74 Heading A4J A couch, bed or chair comprises a frame 10, an inner support 17 pivotable on an axle 11 on the frame and outer support members 12, 13 hinged to the inner support 17. At least one of the support members 12, 13, 17 is connected via a spring (e.g. 16) to the frame 10 and the outer support members 12,13 are each individually pivotable about hinges 14' independently of each other and of the inner support 17. Each outer support member 12, 13 is lockable as shown. In another embodiment Fig. 7 (not shown) a triangular base is provided to an apex of which the middle part 17 is pivoted. Springs are provided between the foot part 13 and the middle part; between the middle part 17 and the base 10 and between the head part 12 and the middle part 17. An extension of the frame of the head part 12 carries a wheel which engages a curved ramp on the base 10.
