Definitions
- the present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for sorting objects (generally goods or Collis) along a conveyor line.
- the objects to be sorted are transported along a conveyor, usually in the form of a long conveyor belt. Sometimes this is purely linear. In order to reintroduce objects not taken down at the end of the line into the sorting process, closed routines are used as an alternative to the pure line. The disadvantage here is that various time elapses until an object has completed a complete loop and comes back to the desired collection location.
- the sorting workers are usually at a plurality of juxtaposed extraction zones along the conveyor line. It is also known to arrange removal sites on both opposite sides of the conveyor belt. The workers are often the truck drivers, who then load the objects into the truck and drive out to the receiver.
- a disadvantage of these present removal arrangements is the fact that the sorting persons must in part search, read and evaluate the identifications on the objects to be sorted themselves. It happens that objects are incorrectly taken down or, vice versa, left on the tape by mistake. This is problematic if the error is noticed only at the end of the delivery tour and the object is delivered to the receiver by days late.
- a further disadvantage is that the worker must always pay attention to the object currently passing on the conveyor belt in order to check the requirement of removal. It remains unrecognized whether possibly immediately thereafter or in a short distance other objects intended for him have reached or will reach the extraction zone, or if he does not have to expect objects for a long time and there is time to load the already taken down objects into his truck.
- Known sorting systems of this type usually promote with 0.5 m / s.
- the aim of the invention is, inter alia, to increase the conveying speed by 20% to 0.6 m / s.
- the object of the invention is therefore to provide a sorting system to overcome the disadvantages mentioned, in particular the activity of the sorting worker ergonomic, because it is easier to plan, to shape and to protect its health.
- the invention is based on the idea of creating a quasi-futuristic display that informs each of the sorting workers in its respective withdrawal zone in advance about the arrival and the order of the next objects.
- the information is permanently pre-informed about a plurality of n objects (n> 1).
- n objects for example, five objects can be signaled. These are preferred in theirs Order of arrival signaled.
- Additional information such as weight, dimension (s), special treatments (dangerous goods, express, cash on delivery, return receipt, duty, etc.), time to arrival, etc. can continue to support and relieve the worker.
- the worker can e.g. decide on the basis of the additional information in advance whether consecutively arriving objects are jointly handled, e.g. stacked and stored together. This saves unnecessary handling activities and thus time.
- the sorting system according to the invention is suitable for the targeted distribution of objects, which are often referred to as Collis. These are preferably packets, packages or other packages or containers which are moved one after the other along a conveyor line and, depending on the property of the respective object at different positions along the conveying path to be removed from this, about to load them into a specific truck , Along the conveyor line several extraction zones are formed one behind the other, in principle, also opposite extraction zones are conceivable.
- a recognition unit in particular a barcode scanner, records specific object identifiers on each object before the object is fed to the conveyor line and moved along it. (The conveyor line should therefore be understood to mean that section of a transport system which follows the aforementioned detection of object identifications.) However, this does not preclude additional identification detections along the conveyor line.)
- a control unit connected to the scanner can determine one or more object properties of the object from the detected object identifier, for example in conjunction with a connected database.
- This can in particular be a delivery address or delivery region, from which in turn can be deduced in which removal zone the object must be removed from the conveyor to take the correct shipping route to be loaded, for example, in the correct truck.
- control unit is designed to control a display unit associated with the individual removal zones in such a way that the worker working in the removal zone can be informed in advance which of these objects can be found in his removal zone and for several of the objects successively entering the respective removal zone which can remain on the conveyor.
- the number of objects to be displayed "in advance" is arbitrary and can be set to five, for example.
- symbols which are intended to represent the individual objects move on the display in a manner analogous to the actual movement of the objects on the conveyor track, so that a clear association between the information shown on the display and the respectively transported objects is easily possible for the worker.
- a display assigned only to it is provided for each removal zone.
- individual removal zones are provided with automatic or semi-automatic removal devices to remove selected objects from the tape.
- This can be, for example, piston-cylinder arrangements or robots. These can be carried out automatically (for example by activation by the control unit) or initiated by a worker (for example after checking the display).
- a signaling of the (for example, predetermined by a control unit / PLC / master computer, desired, intended) extraction zone can take place in various ways.
- the assignment may e.g. be identified by numbering, different symbols or colors.
- the proposed display may also include a location for a short clipboard in order to suggest to the sorting worker the order for later loading of the objects intended for him in his truck, in any case with the aim of optimizing his work. Consideration can also be given to the loading capacity of the truck and the planned route.
- the said clipboard may in the simplest case be a number of fields marked on the ground.
- Another advantage of the proposed solution is that can be largely or completely dispensed with the printing and attaching additional stickers on the objects as an aid to the sorting person.
- control unit recognizes by means of a light barrier sensor at the end of a removal zone that an object intended for removal has not been removed, a suitable signal (eg red representation of the object to be removed) in the display according to the invention of the corresponding removal station can be provided for the expected removal to be performed clues.
- a suitable signal eg red representation of the object to be removed
- the required removal can also be indicated by means of an acoustic signal triggered by the control unit.
- the entire conveyor belt or the section of the conveyor located in the respective removal zone possibly together with some or all of the upstream removal zones, can be slowed down or stopped.
- the display unit simultaneously displays properties of objects (O 1 , O 2 %) From a group of 'n' objects in the order in which the 'n' objects indicate the respective removal zone (Z 1 , Z 2 %) and / or have reached partially or completely, where n> 1 should apply.
- Method according to one of the preceding method claims characterized in that the delivery is slowed or stopped, at least in the removal zone in which an object to be removed is not taken in time and therefore threatens to leave the removal zone on the conveyor line.
- control unit is designed by means of arranged at the end of each removal zone sensors (L) for positional synchronization with the remaining on the conveyor line objects (O) in such a way that is known at any time, which object located at which position of the conveyor line and / or should be.
- Fig. 1 shows in a schematic plan view designed as a conveyor belt conveyor F on the objects O 1 , O 2 , ... are transported isolated in Fig. 1 from right to left.
- the objects first arrive at a scanner unit S, in which object identifiers are recorded for each object and sent to an in-line scanner Fig. 1 not shown superordinated control unit C are forwarded.
- the objects O 1 , O 2 , ... then arrive on the belt successively in individual removal zones Z 1 , Z 2 , Z 3 .
- Each object O is to be taken from the conveyor F in one of these zones, which should be done manually by the worker indicated in each zone. To For example, the worker can grab the object from the belt and, for example, place it behind him on a palette ready there.
- a display unit A 1 , A 2 , A 3 which is easy to see by the working worker, is provided.
- Each display unit is connected to the control unit C and controlled by the latter so that a corresponding symbol is displayed on the display for each object entering each extraction zone.
- the symbols assigned to the individual objects by the control unit differ according to color, shape or meaning according to the invention such that the objects to be removed in the respective removal zone are represented differently than those objects which are to be moved by the conveyor belt into the adjacent next removal zone.
- some of the objects supplied in the future to the respective removal zone are represented symbolically on each display, so that the respective person can already see in advance which of the subsequent objects is to be taken from them and which is not.
- each removal zone Z 1 , Z 2 , Z 3 is in each case a light barrier L 1 , L 2 , L 3 is arranged, which can detect the passage of the objects from one to the next adjacent removal zone.
- a photoelectric barrier and its evaluation by the control unit it can be determined whether an object was actually removed as required or accidentally left on the tape.
- the control unit for example, by evaluating the transport speed and the scanning times of the scanner, the position of the objects left on the conveyor belt permanently traceable ("tracking").
- the respective worker can be made more aware of the need to remove the object by means of the display or by additional acoustic means. If necessary, the movement of the conveyor belt may be temporarily slowed or stopped completely until the object has been properly removed.
- Fig. 2 shows the in Fig. 1 illustrated arrangement with regard to their control.
- a control unit C which comprises a PLC and designed for this purpose is to evaluate the transmitted from a connected to the control unit C scanner object identifier and assign object features.
- the control unit C is also designed to control the individual display units A 1 , A 2 , A 3 in the manner already described.
- control unit can not only generate different symbols for the objects to be taken in the different zones (in the present example differently colored circles), it can also optionally also indicate that symbol H, which corresponds to the goods to be taken in the respective zone.
- symbol H which corresponds to the goods to be taken in the respective zone.
- the person responsible there can advantageously plan better about possible time gaps in which no objects can be removed and, for example, the truck can be loaded instead.
- the person can further estimate in advance how to deal with the corresponding object.
- Fig. 1 is to illustrate the display principle is on all displays A 1 , A 2 , A 3 , the future expected object pass, each offset by an object, displayed in color (for purposes of black and white representation in this application, instead of different colors and different Be shown pattern).
- This distinction between individual objects displayed according to the invention relieves the employees of manual sorting, since the independent (in particular multiple) search and evaluation of object identifications in each individual removal zone is no longer required. This increases the safety of the sorting and avoids erroneous trips.
- Monitoring by means of the photoelectric sensors also guarantees that objects do not accidentally remain on the tape and at the beginning of the process Conveyor line must be moved back. This saves acquisition and / or personnel costs.
- the display system also makes it possible to increase the transport speed of the conveyor, so that the removal and, consequently, the loading process can be carried out more expeditiously, with the result that the delivery can start earlier. Overall, the sorting process becomes much more efficient.

Description
The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for sorting objects (generally goods or Collis) along a conveyor line.
At smaller postal distribution centers, so-called depots, expensive automatic sorting systems are not profitable. These would be used only a few hours a day (about 3-6 hours) during sorting times (in the morning and / or evening hours). For the rest of the time they remained unproductive. Therefore, sorting tasks up to approx. 20,000 objects per hour usually continue to prefer manual sorting.
The objects to be sorted are transported along a conveyor, usually in the form of a long conveyor belt. Sometimes this is purely linear. In order to reintroduce objects not taken down at the end of the line into the sorting process, closed routines are used as an alternative to the pure line. The disadvantage here is that various time elapses until an object has completed a complete loop and comes back to the desired collection location.
The sorting workers are usually at a plurality of juxtaposed extraction zones along the conveyor line. It is also known to arrange removal sites on both opposite sides of the conveyor belt. The workers are often the truck drivers, who then load the objects into the truck and drive out to the receiver.
A disadvantage of these present removal arrangements is the fact that the sorting persons must in part search, read and evaluate the identifications on the objects to be sorted themselves. It happens that objects are incorrectly taken down or, vice versa, left on the tape by mistake. This is problematic if the error is noticed only at the end of the delivery tour and the object is delivered to the receiver by days late.
It is also disadvantageous that the worker has no or inadequate detailed knowledge of the respective next object to be removed. Thus, it may happen that an object that is small in size is presumed to be light in weight and reveals a much greater weight when it comes down. In this case, the decrease of the object from the belt may unexpectedly delay, the worker may injure himself (e.g., tug muscles), or he may drop the object out of surprise and thereby damage it.
A further disadvantage is that the worker must always pay attention to the object currently passing on the conveyor belt in order to check the requirement of removal. It remains unrecognized whether possibly immediately thereafter or in a short distance other objects intended for him have reached or will reach the extraction zone, or if he does not have to expect objects for a long time and there is time to load the already taken down objects into his truck.
Known sorting systems of this type usually promote with 0.5 m / s. The aim of the invention is, inter alia, to increase the conveying speed by 20% to 0.6 m / s. However, this would put the sorting workers under very high time pressure without improving measures, thereby increasing the error rate and suffering health.
The object of the invention is therefore to provide a sorting system to overcome the disadvantages mentioned, in particular the activity of the sorting worker ergonomic, because it is easier to plan, to shape and to protect its health.
The object is achieved by a device according to claim 1. Further advantageous embodiments emerge from the subclaims.
The invention is based on the idea of creating a quasi-futuristic display that informs each of the sorting workers in its respective withdrawal zone in advance about the arrival and the order of the next objects. In this case, the information is permanently pre-informed about a plurality of n objects (n> 1). In the information, for example, five objects can be signaled. These are preferred in theirs Order of arrival signaled. Additional information such as weight, dimension (s), special treatments (dangerous goods, express, cash on delivery, return receipt, duty, etc.), time to arrival, etc. can continue to support and relieve the worker.
So the worker can e.g. decide on the basis of the additional information in advance whether consecutively arriving objects are jointly handled, e.g. stacked and stored together. This saves unnecessary handling activities and thus time.
Dies schließt zusätzliche Kennzeichnungserfassungen entlang der Förderstrecke jedoch nicht aus.)The sorting system according to the invention is suitable for the targeted distribution of objects, which are often referred to as Collis. A recognition unit, in particular a barcode scanner, records specific object identifiers on each object before the object is fed to the conveyor line and moved along it. (The conveyor line should therefore be understood to mean that section of a transport system which follows the aforementioned detection of object identifications.) However, this does not preclude additional identification detections along the conveyor line.)
A control unit connected to the scanner can determine one or more object properties of the object from the detected object identifier, for example in conjunction with a connected database. This can in particular be a delivery address or delivery region, from which in turn can be deduced in which removal zone the object must be removed from the conveyor to take the correct shipping route to be loaded, for example, in the correct truck.
According to the invention, the control unit is designed to control a display unit associated with the individual removal zones in such a way that the worker working in the removal zone can be informed in advance which of these objects can be found in his removal zone and for several of the objects successively entering the respective removal zone which can remain on the conveyor. The number of objects to be displayed "in advance" is arbitrary and can be set to five, for example. By easily distinguishable symbols in the respective display is so easy to see that, for example, the third and fourth transported in the respective extraction zone object can be seen there, while the two preceding and the subsequent object can remain on the tape. Expediently, symbols which are intended to represent the individual objects move on the display in a manner analogous to the actual movement of the objects on the conveyor track, so that a clear association between the information shown on the display and the respectively transported objects is easily possible for the worker. Preferably, a display assigned only to it is provided for each removal zone. Alternatively or in addition, however, it is also conceivable to provide a display together for several zones, from which each worker can at least take the information relevant for his zone.
It is also conceivable that individual removal zones are provided with automatic or semi-automatic removal devices to remove selected objects from the tape. This can be, for example, piston-cylinder arrangements or robots. These can be carried out automatically (for example by activation by the control unit) or initiated by a worker (for example after checking the display).
It is possible to signal to a worker only the objects to be removed by him or all objects moved on the conveyor belt. A signaling of the (for example, predetermined by a control unit / PLC / master computer, desired, intended) extraction zone can take place in various ways. The assignment may e.g. be identified by numbering, different symbols or colors.
The proposed display may also include a location for a short clipboard in order to suggest to the sorting worker the order for later loading of the objects intended for him in his truck, in any case with the aim of optimizing his work. Consideration can also be given to the loading capacity of the truck and the planned route. The said clipboard may in the simplest case be a number of fields marked on the ground.
Another advantage of the proposed solution is that can be largely or completely dispensed with the printing and attaching additional stickers on the objects as an aid to the sorting person.
If the control unit recognizes by means of a light barrier sensor at the end of a removal zone that an object intended for removal has not been removed, a suitable signal (eg red representation of the object to be removed) in the display according to the invention of the corresponding removal station can be provided for the expected removal to be performed clues. In addition, the required removal can also be indicated by means of an acoustic signal triggered by the control unit. In addition, the entire conveyor belt or the section of the conveyor located in the respective removal zone, possibly together with some or all of the upstream removal zones, can be slowed down or stopped.

- a control principle for the system according to
Fig. 1 ,
For each zone, a display unit A 1 , A 2 , A 3, which is easy to see by the working worker, is provided. Each display unit is connected to the control unit C and controlled by the latter so that a corresponding symbol is displayed on the display for each object entering each extraction zone. The symbols assigned to the individual objects by the control unit differ according to color, shape or meaning according to the invention such that the objects to be removed in the respective removal zone are represented differently than those objects which are to be moved by the conveyor belt into the adjacent next removal zone. In the process, some of the objects supplied in the future to the respective removal zone are represented symbolically on each display, so that the respective person can already see in advance which of the subsequent objects is to be taken from them and which is not.
At the end of each removal zone Z 1 , Z 2 , Z 3 is in each case a light barrier L 1 , L 2 , L 3 is arranged, which can detect the passage of the objects from one to the next adjacent removal zone. By means of such a photoelectric barrier and its evaluation by the control unit, it can be determined whether an object was actually removed as required or accidentally left on the tape. For this purpose, it is necessary that the control unit, for example, by evaluating the transport speed and the scanning times of the scanner, the position of the objects left on the conveyor belt permanently traceable ("tracking"). If it is found that an object was not erroneously removed in a removal zone assigned to it and instead interrupts the light barrier to the next removal zone, the respective worker can be made more aware of the need to remove the object by means of the display or by additional acoustic means. If necessary, the movement of the conveyor belt may be temporarily slowed or stopped completely until the object has been properly removed.
Conveniently, the control unit can not only generate different symbols for the objects to be taken in the different zones (in the present example differently colored circles), it can also optionally also indicate that symbol H, which corresponds to the goods to be taken in the respective zone. This results in the particular flexibility of assigning objects with a specific property (delivery region) in a first sorting process to a specific removal zone, while in a later sorting process (for example, on the following day) the objects for the same delivery region can be assigned to another removal zone, for example because of the corresponding Truck is then ready at this extraction zone.
Due to the "anticipatory" display of several objects in each removal zone, the person responsible there can advantageously plan better about possible time gaps in which no objects can be removed and, for example, the truck can be loaded instead. By additionally displaying product characteristics, such as weight or dangerous goods, the person can further estimate in advance how to deal with the corresponding object.
In
The display system also makes it possible to increase the transport speed of the conveyor, so that the removal and, consequently, the loading process can be carried out more expeditiously, with the result that the delivery can start earlier. Overall, the sorting process becomes much more efficient.
