Abstract

The invention relates to a method for identifying stack sections of mailings that are sorted according to a distribution sequence in sorting machines. Once the recipient addresses have been read and allocated to the holding points of the distribution sequence, the last or the first and last mailing of a section of the stack to be identified is/are provided automatically with an easily detachable adhesive label (5) that is highly visible in the stack, by means of an automatic adhesive label dispenser (3), which is positioned in the sorting machine downstream of the reading unit (4) for distribution information and upstream of the distribution device (1). The adhesive labels (5) are then removed from the mailings again during the course of the mailing distribution to the recipients.

Description

The invention relates to a method and an apparatus for identifying stacking sections of mail sorted in sorting machines according to the distribution order.

In sorting operations of mailings with corresponding sorting machines in which the mailings are sorted according to the distribution order, with the result that mailing stacks are formed, which are then manually reorganized in the distribution order by the operating personnel or placed in containers, it is necessary to include sections of To mark the entire stack in order to allow the reforming and to make the distribution process rational and secure. In this context, the stack sections for the respective deliverers and / or the stack sections for the various breakpoints of the distribution sequence are marked.

So far, separation cards are used for the identification of the stack sections, which are higher than the broadcast spectrum to be processed and machinable.

They are then entered into the sorting machine with the items to be sorted, which are brought, for example, in a 3-pass Gangfolgesortierprozess in the distribution order, for example, for 4 deliverers (in the 1st pass is on the one-digit, in the second pass to the tens and in 3rd run sorted by the hundredth place). At the end of the sorting process, the separation cards are placed between the areas of the individual deliverers specified in the sorting plan. Likewise, the separation cards can be interposed to identify the broadcasts for each breakpoint. When using the separation cards, the following disadvantages occur:
  • ■ Separation cards must be provided, sorted out of stacks that are no longer machinable, sorted and placed at the beginning or end of a sorting pass in the fabric input.
  • ■ Distributing the separation cards takes time, reducing machine throughput.
  • ■ The separation cards wear out and need to be replaced regularly.
  • ■ The separation cards increase the mass to be transported sometimes considerably, which is particularly critical for the deliverer in the marking of its breakpoints.
  • ■ The separation cards must be returned to the post office by the delivery agent.

The invention specified in claims 1 and 8 has the object of characterizing portions of sorted sorting machine according to the distribution order mailing stacks, without the use of mitzusortierter separation cards.

According to the invention, this is achieved by the automatic identification of the last or the first and last consignment of a stack section to be distinguished in the stack by an easily visible on the stack material, easily removable on adhesive, which is applied by means of an automatic sticker dispenser. The stickers can be applied as soon as the recipient addresses are read and the consignment has been assigned to the breakpoints of the distribution order in accordance with the corresponding sorting plan. The sticker dispenser is located in the sorting machine between the reading unit and the distributor and pushes the sticker on an agreed place of the read and selected according to the sorting plan consignment. In this process, the shipment is transported past the sticker dispenser and upon reaching the intended Aufbringeortes on the particular shipment is the pressing of the sticker during the Vorbeitransportes the sticker dispenser.

Advantageous embodiments of the invention are illustrated in the subclaims.

In order to minimize stress on the stickers and the mailings, it is advantageous to apply the stickers only at the last sorting run. The stack sections to be identified can advantageously consist of the items to be distributed by the individual deliverers and / or of the items that are allocated to the individual breakpoints.

If several sections are to be distinguished in a mailing stack, then it is advantageous to identify them by different colored stickers or by stickers with different identifiers printed on them. A further advantageous possibility for distinguishing is to apply the stickers at different points of the programs.

So that the shipments do not have to be stopped in the case of labels to be printed, the printing of the characters advantageously takes place one after the other in the transport direction.

As can be seen from FIG 1, the items to be sorted are placed edgewise on a material input 2, from where they are pushed by means of a holding device, not shown, to a separating device. The respective foremost consignment is withdrawn there from the stack and individually transported in the direction of the arrow, for example by means of a known Deckbanksystems. First, the respective shipment arrives at a reading unit 4, where the recipient address is read. Further, the program goes through a more or less long letter train to give the reading unit 4 time for the reading process. Then the consignment is transported past an automatic sticker dispenser 3 and sorted into the units of the breakpoint numbers in 10 compartments of a sorting section 1. The assignment of the recipient addresses to the stops is carried out according to the loaded sorting plan. Since the composition of the stack to be sorted is not yet known at the beginning of this first run, some of the bins may overflow. The overflowing shipments are then sorted into an appropriately marked overflow compartment. After this first sorting run, the mail items are taken from the sorting compartments of the sorting unit section 1 and placed on the material input 2. It must be ensured that the order of the programs sorted into the compartments is strictly adhered to, whereby the programs from the overflow compartments are classified according to their assignment in the stack to the other programs of the overflowed compartment. In the second sorting pass after the tens digit, all transmissions and their assignment to the breakpoints are known, so that the transmissions in this run can be distributed among the compartments so that no subsequent classifications of overflowed transmissions are more necessary. After this second sorting sequence, a sequence-appropriate reloading takes place once again on the substance input 2 and the third sorting run on the hundredth place is carried out.

After the addresses have been read in the first sorting pass and the order of the mailings in the distribution process is determined on the basis of the sorting plan, the application of stickers 5 can take place by means of automatic label dispenser 3 from the next sorting pass. The stickers 5 are on the last consignment 7 of the stack to be marked or if necessary, additionally applied to the first batch of the stack, eg if only a certain section within the stack is to be marked. In order to protect the sticker 5 and shipments, the application of the sticker 5 on the shipments takes place only in the last sorting. The stickers 5 are applied by the sticker dispenser 3 in the transport direction during the transport of the mail items 6,7 by means of a pressure roller so that the sticker 5 protrude upwards from the stack of mail. Since the broadcasts are of different sizes, as can be seen in FIG. 2, the stickers must always have the same position in the vertical direction and the same length. They have such position and length that the glue-provided part only on the areas that are covered by the smallest shipments, passes and on the adhesive 5 on the largest consignments 6 protrude. For the application process, the pinch roller is accelerated to a peripheral speed that corresponds to the transport speed of the shipment. To distinguish the marked stacking sections, the stickers can be printed with an additional printer or the stickers are multicolored, ie there are several sticker dispenser 3 are arranged in the sorting machine or the sticker 5 are applied at different locations in the transport direction on the broadcasts. This is achieved by changing the application timing from the leading edge of the mailpieces.
