Abstract

An optical environment detection or acquisition system in which the detection system has at least one optical receiver (5) for detection of the incident light (4b) within a given wavelength range, and the optical receiver (5) is arranged with a main direction of sensitivity (14) behind a vehicle window glass (2) transparent to this wavelength range, and a refractive index differing from that of its environment, and the window glass (2) has a non-perpendicular angle of slope for the main direction of sensitivity (14) of the receiver (5). An optical prism arrangement is used and is transparent to the detected light and has a refractive index approximating to that of the window glass (2) and has a second side (11a) which is at least approximately normal to the main direction of sensitivity of the receiver (5).
