Detailed Description
Embodiment 1 an exemplary embodiment of the present invention will be described in detail below with reference to the drawings. In addition, an embodiment described below describes an example in which the present invention is applied to a game device as follows as an example of the game device: the game device acquires game information from a card corresponding to a character appearing in a game, thereby providing the player with a game in which the character appears. However, the present invention is not limited to cards, and can be applied to any device that can acquire game information from an article that corresponds to a presentation object including a character or an item that is presented in a game and has game information indicating the presentation object, and provide a similar game. That is, the article is not limited to a card, and may be a toy body such as a manual (figure) or a badge as long as game information is recorded. The departure object may include, in addition to a character and a prop, a behavior (command and skill) usable for a character or the like in the game, a game area in which the game is played, a musical composition played, and the like.
Fig. 1 is a block diagram showing a functional configuration of a game device 100 according to an embodiment of the present invention.
The control unit 101 is, for example, a CPU, and controls the operation of each module included in the game device 100. The control unit 101 reads out, for example, an operation program of each module recorded in the recording medium 102 and a program related to a game (game provision) of the present embodiment that provides a game experience in accordance with the payout of the consideration, and expands and executes the programs in the memory 103, thereby controlling the operation of each module.
The recording medium 102 is a recording device that permanently records information, such as a built-in memory or HDD, and may be built in the game device 100 or detachably connected to the game device 100. The recording medium 102 stores various information such as parameters and display images necessary for the operation of each module, in addition to the operation programs of each module included in the game device 100. The memory 103 is a volatile storage device such as a RAM. The memory 103 is used not only as an expansion area for an operation program of each module, but also as a storage area for intermediate data output during the operation of each module and a work area related to the operation of each module.
The card DB 104 is a database that manages information (cards) of each card that can be used when playing a provided game. As shown in fig. 5 (a), in the card information managed in the card DB 104 according to the present embodiment, a character ID 502 for identifying a character corresponding to a card, and management information 503 indicating a history of playing a game using the card, and the like are included in association with a card ID 501 for identifying the card.
In the providing game executed by the game device 100 of the present embodiment, when a player plays a game, a predetermined number of cards are recognized (scanned) by the recognition unit 106 described later, and a character corresponding to the card is registered as a character to be used in the game, and the character can be matched with a predetermined character to be matched in a match-up game. Further, when the providing game related to one play is finished, the player can exclude a predetermined number of characters from the characters present in the game including the character to be used as new cards. At this time, when the character to be formed into a new card is a character to be used, that is, a character already having a card, the parameters of the character are updated (growth: parameters, character images, and the like are changed in accordance with growth rules and game results predetermined for each character). That is, in the game provided in the present embodiment, when a used character is selected as an object to be discharged, a new card of the character (or a different character in a growth relationship, or the like) can be "derived" from the card used when the used character is registered, and the new card can be output. In the following, in order to easily understand the correspondence relationship between cards, a card newly output after the use character has grown is referred to as a "derived card" as needed, and a card used when the use character before growth is registered is referred to as a "basic card".
In the card DB 104 of the present embodiment, in order to show such correspondence between cards, information (which may be a card ID) for identifying a derived card is included in at least the management information 503 on the base card. In addition, in the case where the derivative card is used to register a use character during game play and the use character is output as a card, the derivative card can be further output. That is, when indirect derivations are considered, there may be multiple derivations of cards with respect to one card. As will be described later, in the provided game according to the present embodiment, in order to avoid a scenario in which the player plays the same game again, such as when the base card is used erroneously at the time of registration, the management information 503 includes information for specifying the latest derivative card in the derivative pedigree. For example, when there is a card B generated by deriving from a card a and a card C generated by deriving from the card B, information for specifying the card C is stored in the management information 503 on the cards a and B.
In the present embodiment, the description is made assuming that information for specifying the latest derivative card in the derivative pedigree is stored in the management information 503, but the present invention is not limited to this, and this should be easily understood. For example, the management information 503 may store information for specifying a derived card generated using a corresponding card, that is, a derived card derived directly (immediately after in the derived pedigree), in order to represent the derived card. In this case, in order to identify the latest derived card, it is sufficient to search the management information 503 of the derived card and perform processing until a card that does not include information for identifying the derived card in the management information 503 is found. Alternatively, the management information 503 relating to the vertex of the derivation pedigree, that is, the base card (mother card) in which the state not being any derivation is recorded may store information for specifying all the derivation cards (child cards) of the derivation pedigree and information indicating that the derivation cards are mother cards, and the management information 503 relating to the child cards may store information for specifying the mother cards and information indicating that the derivation cards are child cards.
In the present embodiment, it is assumed that one of the use characters can be grown to output one of the derivative cards when the one of the provided games related to the one play is ended, that is, one of the derivative cards can be generated for one of the base cards. For example, a combination (combination/composition) of the use role with another card may be used as a growth element for derivation, or a derived card may be output from the combination. In this case, since there are a plurality of base cards for one derivative card, information for specifying the same derivative card can be stored in the management information 503 for each of the plurality of base cards.
The management information 503 may include information relating to, for example, the battle performance of a game played on the card, and parameter correction of a character. The information included in the management information 503 may be used for reference when playing a game or when outputting a card.
In the present embodiment, the card DB 104 is used to manage the card information of each of all the cards that can be used in the game device 100, including the card output from the game device 100, but the practice of the present invention is not limited to this. The card information may be managed for each player who owns the card, and in this case, the management information 503 may be managed in association with the identification information of the player in the player DB which manages the information on each player, differently from the card DB 104.
The character DB 105 manages various information (character information) about each character appearing in the providing game. As shown in fig. 5 (b), the character information managed in the character DB 105 according to the present embodiment includes, in association with a character ID 511 for identifying a character, a character image 512 used when the character is present in a providing game and displayed on a game screen, the character image being configured and generated, and growth information 513 indicating transition of a growth process determined for the character. The character image 512 may be an image determined to be different according to the growth stage of the character, and in this case, may be an image displayed on the game screen at each growth stage or an image in which the output cards displayed on the cards are changed in association with each other.
In the present embodiment, the card DB 104 and the character DB 105 are shown as the configuration of the game device 100, but information that may be referred to by a plurality of game devices, such as being managed by these databases, need not be recorded in each game device. That is, at least one of the card DB 104 and the character DB 105 may be configured as an external device such as a server that is connected to the game device 100 so as to be able to communicate via the communication unit 110, which will be described later. In this case, even in a game machine different from the game machine in which the derivative card is generated, the player can obtain a game experience in which convenience regarding various processes described later is improved when playing a game using the base card.
The identification unit 106 identifies a card relating to which character is based on information acquired from the card by scanning by an information acquisition device such as a card reader provided as an internal configuration of the game device 100 or connected to the game device 100. For example, the recognition unit 106 refers to the card DB 104 based on the card ID 501 acquired from the card to be recognized, and acquires card information (the character ID 502 and the management information 503) related to the card. Further, the recognition unit 106 acquires character information of a corresponding character from the acquired character ID 502. The character information acquired by the recognition unit 106 may be stored in the memory 103 as the use character information together with the card ID and the management information or after applying a predetermined conversion process.
The rendering unit 107 is a rendering device such as a GPU, for example, and performs rendering processing for providing various screens related to a game. The drawing unit 107 draws a game screen to which a character image of a character to be used is applied as a game screen during the play of a provided game, for example. The drawing unit 107 is not limited to generating a game screen, and may also generate image data as print content relating to a card output after playing a game.
The display unit 108 is a display device included in the game device 100 such as an LCD, for example, and can display the game screen generated by the drawing unit 107 at a predetermined frame rate, thereby enabling the player to obtain a game experience related to provision of a game.
The output unit 109 outputs a card that can be used when playing a provided game by transmitting an output command to a printing device such as a printer provided as an internal structure of the game device 100 or connected to the game device 100. The output command is formed together with image data printed on the card, and the printing apparatus prints the image data on a predetermined print medium (card paper, roll paper, or the like) and discharges the card through a predetermined discharge mechanism so that the card can be acquired by the player.
The communication unit 110 is a communication interface of the game device 100 for communicating with another device. The game device 100 can be connected to another game device having the same configuration and providing a game or a predetermined server via a predetermined network via the communication unit 110, and exchange information. The communication method via the communication unit 110 may be performed in accordance with a predetermined standard, and it is not particularly limited which standard is used or communication is wired/wireless.
The operation input unit 111 is an operation input interface provided in the game device 100, such as a button or a direction instruction lever. When detecting that an operation input is made to the operation input interface, the operation input unit 111 outputs a control signal corresponding to the operation input to the control unit 101.
Next, with respect to the output-time processing relating to card output for one play in the game device 100 of the present embodiment having such a configuration, a specific processing will be described with reference to the flowchart of fig. 2. The processing corresponding to the flowchart can be realized by reading a corresponding processing program stored in the recording medium 102, for example, by the control unit 101, and expanding and executing the processing program in the memory 103. For example, the present output process is started when a match game providing a predetermined match character in the game ends.
In S201, the control unit 101 determines whether or not a character (output character) to be output by the card is selected. In the game provided in the present embodiment, the player can select a character to be a target of card output from a use character registered by the player at the time of playing the game and a competing character as an opponent to the competing game. The control unit 101 shifts the process to S202 when determining that the output character has been selected, and repeats the process of this step when determining that the output character has not been selected.
In S202, the control unit 101 determines whether or not the character selected as the output character is the use character. That is, the control unit 101 determines whether or not an output character is selected from the use characters registered by the player using the corresponding card at the time of playing the game. The control unit 101 shifts the process to S203 if it determines that the output character is the use character, and shifts the process to S205 if it determines that the output character is not the use character.
In S203, the control unit 101 assigns a new card ID (output card ID) to the information of various parameters stored in the output character update memory 103, and generates output card information (derived card information) relating to the output character after the dispatch. Then, the control unit 101 stores the generated output card information in the card DB 104. The output card information has the same structure as the card information. That is, the control unit 101 generates output card information having an output card ID as the card ID 501, a character ID of an output character as the character ID 502, and management information 503 based on information of the updated parameters. In addition, when it is determined that the output character is changed to a different type of character by derivation, when updating information of various parameters, the character ID of the character after the change and various parameters can be acquired from the character DB 105, and output card information can be configured based on the information.
In S204, the control unit 101 changes the management information 503 stored in the use character change card DB 104 for the selected use character. In this step, when a derived card is generated based on the use role, information for specifying the derived card (output card) is added to the management information 503 for managing the card relating to the use role in the card DB 104. Specifically, the control unit 101 requests the card DB 104 to update the card information so as to add and output a card ID to the management information 503 of the corresponding use role as information for specifying the derived card. In the case where another piece of card information related to a derivative pedigree is managed in the card DB 104, that is, in the case where the card ID of the card used when the use character is registered is managed as the piece of card information for specifying the derivative card, the control unit 101 may perform the same update request for the piece of card information.
On the other hand, if it is determined in S202 that the output character is not the used character, that is, the competitor character, in S205, the control unit 101 generates output card information to which the output card ID is assigned, based on the character information of the selected competitor character. Then, the control unit 101 stores the generated output card information in the card DB 104.
In S206, the control unit 101 causes the drawing unit 107 to generate image data related to the output card information. Then, the control unit 101 controls the output unit 109 to discharge the card related to the generated image data from the printing apparatus.
By executing the output-time processing in this manner, information for specifying the derivative card can be associated with the base card in which the first derivative card is generated.
Next, a description will be given, using the flowchart of fig. 3, of a registration process for registering a character for use in one play using a card that can be used for a provided game, including a card printed out by the output-time process. The processing corresponding to the flowchart can be realized by reading a corresponding processing program stored in the recording medium 102, for example, by the control unit 101, and expanding and executing the processing program in the memory 103. The present registration process is started when the process of providing a game is completed in a sequence in which the player preparation for a match-up game is performed after the payout of the match-up price for one play of the game, for example, and the description is given.
In S301, the recognition unit 106 determines whether or not a card to be registered as a use character is scanned. That is, the recognition unit 106 determines whether or not information is acquired from a card that can be used for providing a game. The recognition unit 106 shifts the process to S302 when determining that the card is scanned, and repeats the process of this step when determining that the card is not scanned.
In S302, the recognition unit 106 acquires the corresponding card information from the card DB 104 based on the card ID included in the information acquired from the card, and stores the card information as the detected card information in the memory 103. Then, the recognition unit 106 refers to the detected card information to determine whether or not the scanned card is a card from which a derived card has been generated. Specifically, the identification unit 106 determines in this step based on whether or not information for specifying a derived card is included in the management information 503 for detecting card information. The recognition unit 106 transfers the process to S303 when determining that the scanned card is a card in which a derivative card has been generated, and transfers the process to S304 when determining that the scanned card is a card in which a derivative card has not been generated.
In S303, the identification unit 106 acquires the card information of the derived card from the card DB 104 based on the information (card ID) for specifying the derived card, and updates the detected card information stored in S302.
In S304, the recognition unit 106 acquires corresponding character information from the character DB 105 based on the character ID 502 of the detected card information, and stores the character information in the memory 103 as the used character information. In this case, the recognition unit 106 may convert the acquired character information based on the management information 503 of the detected card information, and store the converted character information as the used character information so as to reflect the parameter change based on the growth status. The character information includes the character image 512, and the recognition unit 106 may expand the character image 512 to a state usable for the rendering process by the rendering unit 107 and store the expanded image in the memory 103. In this way, the card in which the derivative card has been generated can be assigned and registered with the assigned character information for the scanned card, and the image of the assigned character can be displayed on the game screen in association with the card.
In S305, the control unit 101 determines whether or not a predetermined number of pieces of use character information determined to be usable for playing the game have been registered. The control unit 101 shifts the process to S306 when determining that the predetermined number of pieces of usage character information have been registered, and returns the process to S301 when determining that the predetermined number of pieces of usage character information have not been registered. In addition, when the player performs an operation input to register a predetermined number of pieces of use character information, such as when the player does not have a predetermined number of cards, the control unit 101 may shift the process to S306 without depending on the determination in this step.
In S306, the control unit 101 shifts the timing of providing the game to the timing of starting the match-up game, and completes the present registration process.
In this way, when a use character is registered using a card in which no derivative card exists, character information based on a character ID acquired from the base card is registered as use character information, and when a use character is registered using a card in which a derivative card exists, character information acquired based on a character ID related to a derivative card different from the character ID acquired from the base card is registered as use character information. That is, if a derivative card is generated, the player can play the game from the state in which the derivative card is output as long as there is a corresponding base card, and therefore, it is no longer necessary to play the game for outputting the derivative card again. Further, even when a player has similar cards in a derivative relationship, the player can play the game with the latest derivative card, and therefore, even when an unexpected (card before derivation) is erroneously scanned, it is not necessary to newly register a character.
In the card DB 104 of the present embodiment, as described above, the management information 503 includes information for specifying the latest derived card. According to this configuration, when a card other than the latest derived card in the derived pedigree is scanned, the role ID related to the latest derived card can be uniquely acquired as the role ID of the use role. On the other hand, if a base card having a derived card is scanned, a game can be played with a character used based on a card derived and output after the base card, and at least a game for outputting a derived card from the base card can be prevented from being played again. That is, in the implementation of the present invention, when a card in which a derived card exists is scanned, it is not always necessary to acquire character information based on a character ID associated with the "latest" derived card. For example, when there are a plurality of cards derived and output directly and indirectly from the scanned base card, a role corresponding to any one of the plurality of derived cards may be set as the use role.
In addition, from the viewpoint of so-called game balance, gameplay understanding, the following may hinder the player's better game experience: for example, a derivative card related to a character grown by another player can be used to play a game. Therefore, as described above, the information of the cards owned by each player may be managed using the player DB, and when the cards owned by other players are used, one character different from the character corresponding to the card, for example, selected from a predetermined group of characters having initial parameters (in a state not owned by any player), may be registered as the use character, thereby allowing the game to be played. Further, the information of the card owned by the player need not be managed as the player DB, but may be configured as follows: information on a card owned by a player is recorded in a predetermined recording medium different from a character card, such as an IC card configured to record a fighting experience of the player, and is inquired at the time of registration processing.
Embodiment 2 has been described in the above-described embodiment 1, in the case where a card having a derivative card is used when registering a use character, a character corresponding to the latest derivative card is registered as the use character.
On the other hand, two characters having a derivative relationship (associated with a derivative pedigree) that become characters having different appearances during the development process may not be determined to have a derivative relationship if only the appearance of the card pattern is seen. That is, since the outer shapes are different, the player may scan a plurality of cards identical to the latest derivative card when registering the use character. In such a case, in the configuration exemplified in embodiment 1, since a plurality of characters related to the latest derivative card are registered as the use characters, there is a possibility that a breakdown in the game balance that hinders a preferable game experience may occur.
In the present embodiment, the following configuration will be explained: when registering a use role based on a plurality of cards having a derivative relationship, registration of a plurality of identical roles is avoided as the use role.
Note that the game device 100 of the present embodiment has the same configuration as that of embodiment 1 described above, and a description of the functional configuration is omitted. On the other hand, the card information managed by the card DB 104 of the present embodiment is: in the case of the basic card, the management information 503 includes information for specifying the latest derived card, and in the case of the derived card, the management information 503 includes information indicating that the derived card is.
Next, the registration processing of the present embodiment will be described in detail with reference to the flowchart of fig. 4. In the registration processing of the present embodiment, steps for performing the same processing as that of the registration processing of embodiment 1 are assigned the same reference numerals, and the description thereof is omitted, and only the steps for performing the characteristic processing of the present embodiment will be described below.
After determining in S301 that the card has been scanned, in S401, the recognition unit 106 acquires card information corresponding to the card ID acquired from the card DB 104. The identification unit 106 refers to the management information 503 of the acquired card information to determine whether or not the scanned card is a derived card or a basic card in which the derived card exists. The recognition unit 106 transfers the process to S402 when determining that the scanned card is a derivative card or a base card, and transfers the process to S304 when determining that the scanned card is a card other than the derivative card or the base card.
In S402, the recognition unit 106 determines whether or not a card that is in a derivative relationship with the scanned card has been used when the use character related to the game play is registered. That is, if a card in a derivative relationship with a card scanned this time is used before the card, when a use character related to the game play is registered, use character information related to the latest derivative card thereof is already saved. Therefore, the recognition unit 106 may perform the determination of the present step based on, for example, the following cases: whether or not the card information for specifying the derived card (card ID) included in the management information 503 of the acquired card information is acquired for the card on which the use registration is performed may be determined in the present step. The recognition unit 106 shifts the process to S403 when determining that the card in the derivative relationship with the scanned card has been used when registering the use character related to the game play, and shifts the process to S303 when determining that the card has not been used.
In S403, the recognition unit 106 acquires the corresponding card information from the card DB 104 based on the card ID included in the information acquired from the card. Then, the recognition unit 106 performs the following decimation processing: a character to be registered as a use character is extracted from a character group determined based on the character ID 502 of the acquired card information. For example, the lottery process may be performed on a group of character IDs obtained by removing the character ID 502 of the acquired card information and the character ID of the character having a derivation relationship therewith from all the character IDs registered in the character DB 105. For example, the lottery process may be performed on a group of character IDs obtained by removing the character ID 502 of the acquired card information and the character IDs of the characters having a derivative relationship therewith from all the character IDs of the categories (the rank, rarity, race, attribute, and the like) into which the character belonging to the character ID 502 of the acquired card information is classified. For example, the lottery process may be performed on a character ID group obtained by removing the character ID 502 of the acquired card information and the character ID of the character having a derivative relationship therewith from a character ID group predetermined as the target of the lottery process. It is needless to say that the character group to be subjected to the drawing process may be a character group determined in the same manner based on the character ID 502 of the card information acquired with respect to the latest derivative card.
The recognition unit 106 acquires corresponding character information from the character DB 105 based on one character ID obtained as a result of the decimation process, and stores the character information in the memory 103 as used character information. In this case, since the character determined by the drawing process is a character that is not determined based on the scanned card, the recognition unit 106 may not perform the conversion or the like as in S304. After saving the use character information, the recognition unit 106 shifts the process to S305.
In this way, even when a user character is registered based on a plurality of cards having a derivative relationship, it is possible to eliminate a reduction element of interest such as registering the same character as the user character, thereby ensuring a preferable game experience.
In embodiment 2 described above, when a plurality of cards having a derivative relationship are used in registering a use character, a description has been given of determining a use character based on a card by a drawing process in addition to one card. However, the determination of the use role based on the decimation process may be performed without being limited to such a condition.
For example, when a card having a derivative card is used, the registration of the use character may be performed by a lottery process without depending on whether or not the use character is registered using another card having a derivative relationship. In this case, the character group to be subjected to the drawing process may be determined by removing the character corresponding to the scanned card or the card derived therefrom, or may not be removed. When the removal is performed, as in embodiments 1 and 2, it is possible to ensure an effect that a predetermined game is not played again, and to make the player recognize that the card is a card in which a derived card is present. In addition, when the removal is not performed, for example, the execution of the providing game may be controlled so that the interest of the player who plays the game a plurality of times is continued, such as changing the progress of the game or changing a derived character.
Other embodiments the present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiments, and various changes and modifications can be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the present invention. The game device according to the present invention can also be realized by a program that causes a computer to function as the game device. The program can be provided/distributed by recording the program in a computer-readable recording medium or through an electric communication line.
