Abstract

The invention relates to a holder for warning triangles, comprising a horizontal base body whereon support legs are joined to the ends thereof and said solid base comprises openings for said support legs which are arranged in the region of said end parts. One of the support legs is joined to the base body by means of a bearing body comprising an opening. The second support leg comprises a journal extending through the opening of the base body and the opening of the bearing body.

Stand for warming triangle
The invention relates to a stand in accordance with the main preamble of claim 1.
In the case of conventional stands of the aforementioned type, such as, for example, as disclosed in EP 864 464, the support legs are pivotally connected to the base of the body each via a bearing portion, the ends of the support legs being inserted into openings provided for this purpose. In this way, the support legs receive undesirable play. In addition, the end portions of the base body are solidly built in order to achieve the necessary stability.
Proceeding from the above state of the art, a need exits to further develop the generic stand without incurring undue expense on construction, in such a manner that the assembly of the stand can be effected with less spent on materials, in a more rapid manner and with a secure bearing arrangement of the individual parts.
This need is fulfilled by the features of claim 1.
It is recognized that the invention is realized in all cases when there is a stand, the basic body of which includes bearing openings at its two ends, into which bearing openings the two support legs are pivotally disposable by means of plug-in connections. At the same time, the one support leg has an opening, whilst the second support leg carries a pin, which initially traverses the bearing opening of the end portion and then is inserted through the opening of the second support leg. The pin, n this case, s dimensioned in such a manner that it transverses the two openings and protrudes out of the opening of the bearing body, but holds the three parts together in a pivotal and operative manner.
Further expedient and advantageous developments of the invention proceed from the sub claims of the invention.
AMENDED SHEET
EB 7374 ' 2 24" October 2003
T A particularly expedient development provides that the bearing body and the pin are separate parts, which are operationally connectable to the support legs. In this way, the support legs, which are usually made of metal or plastics material, are configured in the form of rods, which are then connectable to the bearing body or respectively pin by means of plug- in connections.
Another development provides that the pin is a part of a plug-in body, which is pivotally connectable to both the support legs and the bearing body as well as to the base body.
Another expedient development provides that the plug-in body and the bearing body have impact portions, which interact with the impact bodies of the base body. Within the framework of this concept according to the invention, it is expedient when the impact bodies define the idle position as well as the operational position of the support legs. These measures make it achievable that the support legs can always assume a defined operating position or respectively idle position.
Another expedient deveiopment provides that the pin inciudes a coliar portion with an opening as well as a resiliently deformable head portion, the diameter of which in the relaxed condition is larger than the diameter of the opening and which is supported on the free side of the bearing body.
These measures produce a flexible plug-in connection between the individual parts, which can easily be detached. These measures not only clearly simplify the production of the legs, but also the actual plug-in connection.
An exemplified embodiment of the invention is represented in a schematic manner in the drawing and is explained below. In which:
Figure 1 is a warning triangle in the folded-up condition,
Figure 2 is an enlarged representation of the part in Figure 1 identified by i,
Figure 3 is the part in Figure 2, but with no support legs,
Figure 4 is a perspective view of a plug-in body,
Figure 5 is another perspective view of the plug-in body in Figure 4,
Figure 6 is a side view of a bearing body,
Figure 7 is the bearing body in Figure 6 in the direction of the arrow VIL.

A 14739-PCT 24™ Qctober 2003
Figures 1 to 3 show a folded-up warning triangle for motor vehicles, which triangle includes three reflecting bars, from which each bar is connected so as to be pivotable to the ends of the third base bar.
The stand 10 for a warning triangle includes a horizontally orientated base body 12, the support legs 14 being pivotally connected at the end of said base body, which includes bearing openings 20 for the support legs 14 in the region of its end portions 16, 18. The one support leg is pivotally connected to the base body 12 via a bearing body 40, 42, whilst the second support leg 14 carries a pin 32, which traverses the bearing opening 30 of the base body 12 as well as the opening 42 of the bearing body 40.
The bearing body 40 as well as the pin 32 are separate parts, which are operationally connected to the support legs 14. The pin 32 is part of a plug-in body 30, which is connectable by means of plug-in connection to both the support leg 14 and the bearing body 40 as well as to the base body 12.
It can be sent that the plug-in body 30 and the bearing body 40 have impact portions 35, 36; 43, 44, which interact with impact bodies 8, 9 of ‘he base body “2. The object of the impact codies &, 3 is iC gefine (ne icie position as well as the operating position of the support legs 14 when the support legs 14 are pivoted out and pivoted in. In addition, it can be seen in Figure 4 that the pin 32 includes a collar portion 36 with an opening 33 as well as a resiliently deformable head portion 34, the diameter of which in the relaxed state is greater that the diameter of the opening 42. The head portion 34 is supported on the free side 45 of the bearing body 40.
The diameter of the cylindrical collar portion 36 corresponds to the diameter of the bearing opening 20 and the diameter of the opening 42.
It can be seen in Figure 2 in conjunction with Figure 4 that the support leg 14 is retained in the folded-up state by projections 39, which are resiliently deformable. The support leg carried by the plug-in body 30 is inserted in the recess 37. The projection 38 in Figure 4 acts as a stop member of the plug-in body 30 on base body 12.
Claims referred herein, are to be considered as an integral part of the specification.
The claims which follow are to be considered an integral part of the present disclosure. Reference numbers (directed to the drawings) shown in the claims serve to facilitate the correlation of integers of the claims with illustrated features of the preferred embodiment(s), but are not intended to restrict in any way the language of the claims to what is shown in the drawings, uniess the contrary is clearly apparent from the context.
