Abstract
The invention relates to a method for producing resols by reacting phenolic compounds with aldehydes using the catalytic effect of metal salts whose cations are easily precipitated as poorly soluble salts in technical procedures. A dispersant is added to the reaction mixture consisting of the phenolic compound, aldehyde and metal salt before, during or after the condensation reaction and once the condensation reaction is complete and the dispersant has been admixed, a complexing agent is admixed. The resulting resins are transparent even after neutralisation with sulphuric acid.
