최근 이차 전지에 대한 연구 개발이 활발히 이루어지고 있다. 여기서 이차 전지는 충전 및 방전이 가능한 전지로서, 종래의 Ni/Cd 배터리, Ni/MH 배터리 등과 최근의 리튬 이온 배터리를 모두 포괄하는 것으로 해석될 수 있다. 최근에는 전기 자동차의 전원으로 사용 범위가 확장되어 차세대 에너지 저장 매체로 주목을 받고 있다.
4차 산업 혁명으로 인해 다양한 산업 분야에서 고용량, 고출력의 배터리가 요구됨에 따라, 배터리 유닛의 이상 여부를 모니터링 하는 기술의 중요도가 높아지고 있다. 모니터링을 통해 배터리 유닛의 이상 여부를 파악하는 것은, 배터리의 안정성을 확보하는 것에서 나아가 사용자의 신뢰를 확보하는데 필수적이다. 이에 따라, 모니터링의 정확도를 높이기 위한 노력이 수행되고 있다. 그러나, 이상 여부 모니터링에 시간적, 전기적 자원이 지나치게 많이 배분될 경우, 배터리 출력이 저하되어, 배터리 성능이 저하될 수 있다. 이에, 한정된 시간적, 전기적 자원을 통해 이상 여부 모니터링을 수행하기 위한 기술 개발이 진행되고 있다.
본 문서에 개시된 실시 예들에 따르면, 저전력 모드에서 배터리 유닛의 상태를 모니터링하는 배터리 상태 관리 장치 및 그 방법을 제공하고자 한다.

제7 동작(613)에서, 일 실시 예에 따른 전력 제어 회로(207)는, 제1 센서(203)로부터 전력 제어 회로(207)에게 이상 신호가 전달됐는지를 식별할 수 있다. 제1 센서(203)로부터 전력 제어 회로(207)에게 이상 신호가 전달된 경우, 제1 전력 공급 회로(302)와 제2 전력 공급 회로(304)는 제8 동작(615)을 수행할 수 있다. 제1 센서(203)로부터 전력 제어 회로(207)에게 이상 신호가 전달되지 않은 경우, 제1 센서(203)는 제4 동작(607)을 수행할 수 있다.
일 실시 예에 따르면, 이상 신호는, 제1 센서(203)로부터 획득된 측정 값들에 기반하여 배터리 유닛의 이상이 식별되는 경우, 제1 센서(203)로부터 전력 제어 회로(207)로 전달될 수 있다.
제8 동작(615)에서, 일 실시 예에 따른 제1 전력 공급 회로(302)와 제2 전력 공급 회로(304)의 전기적인 연결이 활성화됨으로써, MCU(311)에 전원을 공급하고, 이상 감지 모듈 전체가 동작할 수 있다.
제9 동작(617)에서, 일 실시 예에 따른 활성화 회로(321)는 이상 감지 모듈 외부의 중앙 제어 장치에게 중앙 제어 장치를 활성화하는 신호를 전달할 수 있다.
일 실시 예에 따르면, 활성화 회로(321)는, 배터리 상태 관리 장치(201) 외부의 중앙 제어 장치를 활성화시켜, 배터리 유닛의 이상을 분석하고 배터리 유닛의 이상에 대처하기 위해, 중앙 제어 장치를 활성화하는 신호를 중앙 제어 장치에게 전달할 수 있다. 제1 센서(203)로부터 이상 신호가 전달된 경우, 이상 감지 모듈 외부의 중앙 제어 장치는 비활성화되어 있을 확률이 높기 때문이다.
도 7은, 본 문서의 일 실시 예에 따른 배터리 상태 관리 장치, 및 배터리 상태 관리 방법에서, 제2 전력 공급 회로(304)를 제1 전력 공급 회로(302)와 전기적으로 연결시키는 배터리 상태 관리 장치의 동작의 흐름을 도시한다.
도 7을 참조하면, 제1 동작(701)에서, 일 실시 예에 따른 제1 센서(203)는, 제1 전력 공급 회로(302)를 통해 상시 전원을 공급받고, 배터리 유닛의 상태를 감지할 수 있다.
제2 동작(703)에서, 전력 제어 회로(207)는, 제1 센서(203)의 감지 결과에 대응되는 이상 신호에 응답하여, 스위치(205)의 동작을 제어할 수 있다.
제3 동작(705)에서, 스위치(205)는, 제2 전력 공급 회로(304)를 제1 전력 공급 회로(302)와 전기적으로 연결할 수 있다.
도 8은, 본 문서의 일 실시 예에 따른 배터리 상태 관리 장치, 및 배터리 상태 관리 방법에서, 배터리 상태 관리 방법을 수행하는 컴퓨팅 시스템의 하드웨어 구성을 나타내는 블록도이다.
도 8을 참조하면, 본 문서에 개시된 일 실시 예에 따른 컴퓨팅 시스템(800)은 MCU(810), 메모리(820), 입출력 I/F(830) 및 통신 I/F(840)를 포함할 수 있다.
MCU(810)는 메모리(820)에 저장되어 있는 각종 프로그램(예를 들면, 배터리 셀 데이터 수집 프로그램, 그래프 산출 프로그램, 데이터 분석 프로그램, 데이터 분해 알고리즘, 정규화 프로그램 및 배터리 셀 진단 프로그램 등)을 실행시키고, 이러한 프로그램들을 통해 배터리 셀의 특성 데이터, 잠재 변수 등을 포함한 각종 정보를 처리하며, 전술한 도 1 내지 8에 나타낸 배터리 상태 관리 장치(201)의 기능들을 수행하도록 하는 하나 이상의 프로세서일 수 있다.
메모리(820)는 배터리 셀 데이터 수집 프로그램, 그래프 산출 프로그램, 데이터 분석 프로그램, 데이터 분해 알고리즘, 정규화 프로그램 및 배터리 셀 진단 프로그램 등 각종 프로그램을 저장할 수 있다.
이러한 메모리(820)는 필요에 따라서 복수 개 마련될 수도 있을 것이다. 메모리(820)는 휘발성 메모리일 수도 있으며 비휘발성 메모리일 수 있다. 휘발성 메모리로서의 메모리(820)는 RAM, DRAM, SRAM 등이 사용될 수 있다. 비휘발성 메모리로서의 메모리(820)는 ROM, PROM, EAROM, EPROM, EEPROM, 플래시 메모리 등이 사용될 수 있다. 열거한 메모리(820)들의 예를 단지 예시일 뿐이며 이들 예로 한정되는 것은 아니다.
입출력 I/F(830)는, 키보드, 마우스, 터치 패널 등의 입력 장치(미도시)와 디스플레이(미도시) 등의 출력 장치와 MCU(810) 사이를 연결하여 데이터를 송수신할 수 있도록 하는 인터페이스를 제공할 수 있다.
통신 I/F(840)는 서버와 각종 데이터를 송수신할 수 있는 구성으로서, 유선 또는 무선 통신을 지원할 수 있는 각종 장치일 수 있다. 예를 들면, 배터리 상태 관리 장치(201)는 통신 I/F(840)를 통해 별도로 마련된 외부 서버로부터 배터리 셀의 형상 모델 등을 포함한 각종 정보를 송수신할 수 있다.
이와 같이, 본 문서에 개시된 일 실시 예에 따른 컴퓨터 프로그램은 메모리(820)에 기록되고, MCU(810)에 의해 처리됨으로써, 예를 들면 도 2에서 도시한 각 기능들을 수행하는 모듈로서 구현될 수도 있다.

Claims (16)

  1. 제1 전력 공급 회로를 통해 상시 전원을 공급받고, 배터리 유닛의 상태를 감지하는 제1 센서;
    상기 제1 센서와 상이한 제2 센서에 전원을 공급하는 제2 전력 공급 회로를 상기 제1 전력 공급 회로와 전기적으로 연결시키는 스위치; 및
    상기 제1 센서의 감지 결과에 대응되는 이상 신호에 응답하여 상기 스위치의 동작을 제어하는 전력 제어 회로를 포함하는,
    배터리 상태 관리 장치.
  2. 청구항 1항에 있어서,
    상기 전력 제어 회로는,
    상기 이상 신호를 획득하거나, 알람 신호를 획득하는 것에 응답하여, 상기 스위치에 전압을 제공함으로써 상기 스위치의 동작을 제어하도록 구성되는,
    배터리 상태 관리 장치.
  3. 청구항 1항에 있어서,
    상기 스위치는,
    상기 전력 제어 회로와 전기적으로 연결되어, 상기 전력 공급 회로로부터 전압을 획득하는 것에 기반하여, 상기 제2 전력 공급 회로를 상기 제1 전력 공급 회로와 전기적으로 연결시켜 상기 제2 센서에 전원을 공급하도록 구성되는,
    배터리 상태 관리 장치.
  4. 청구항 1항에 있어서,
    상기 제1 전력 공급 회로는,
    LC(inductor-capacitor) 필터, CLC(capacitor-inductor-capacitor) 필터, 또는 이들의 어느 조합 중 적어도 하나; 및
    상기 제1 센서의 정격 전압 크기만큼의 전원을 상기 제1 센서에게 제공하는 제1 LDO(low dropout; LDO)을 포함하도록 구성되고,
    상기 제2 전력 공급 회로는,
    상기 제2 센서의 정격 전압 크기만큼의 전원을 상기 제2 센서에게 제공하는 제2 LDO을 포함하도록 구성되는,
    배터리 상태 관리 장치.
  5. 청구항 1항에 있어서,
    상기 제1 전력 공급 회로와 상기 제2 전력 공급 회로가 전기적으로 연결되는 것에 기반하여, 상기 배터리 상태 관리 장치의 외부의 중앙 제어 장치를 활성화하는 신호를 상기 중앙 제어 장치에게 전달하는 활성화 회로를 더 포함하고,
    상기 활성화 회로의 일 단자는,
    상기 중앙 제어 장치와 전기적으로 연결되도록 구성되고,
    상기 활성화 회로의 타 단자는,
    상기 제2 전력 공급 회로와 전기적으로 연결되도록 구성되는,
    배터리 상태 관리 장치.
  6. 청구항 1항에 있어서,
    제1 단자가 상기 제1 센서와 전기적으로 연결되는 MCU(micro controller unit)를 더 포함하고,
    상기 MCU의 제2 단자는,
    상기 제2 센서와 전기적으로 연결되도록 구성되고,
    상기 MCU의 제3 단자는,
    상기 제2 전력 공급 회로에 전기적으로 연결되도록 구성되고,
    상기 MCU의 제4 단자는,
    상기 전력 제어 회로와 전기적으로 연결되도록 구성되는,
    배터리 상태 관리 장치.
  7. 청구항 6항에 있어서,
    일 단자가 상기 제2 전력 공급 회로와 전기적으로 연결되는 CAN(controller area network) 트랜시버(transceiver)를 더 포함하고,
    상기 CAN 트랜시버의 타 단자는,
    상기 MCU와 전기적으로 연결되도록 구성되는,
    배터리 상태 관리 장치.
  8. 청구항 1항에 있어서,
    상기 제1 센서는,
    기준치 이하의 전력에 따른 저전력 모드에서, 제1 전력 공급 회로를 통해 전원을 공급받도록 구성되고,
    상기 제2 센서는,
    상기 저전력 모드에서, 상기 제1 전력 공급 회로와 상기 제2 전력 공급 회로가 전기적으로 연결되는지 여부에 따라 전원을 공급받도록 구성되는,
    배터리 상태 관리 장치.
  9. 제1 센서에 의해 제1 전력 공급 회로를 통해 상시 전원을 공급받고, 배터리 유닛의 상태를 감지하는 동작;
    전력 제어 회로에 의해, 상기 제1 센서의 감지 결과에 대응되는 이상 신호에 응답하여 스위치의 동작을 제어하는 동작; 및
    상기 스위치에 의해, 상기 제1 센서와 상이한 제2 센서에 전원을 공급하는 제2 전력 공급 회로를 상기 제1 전력 공급 회로와 전기적으로 연결시키는 동작을 포함하는,
    배터리 상태 관리 방법.
  10. 청구항 9항에 있어서,
    상기 전력 제어 회로에 의해,
    알람 신호를 획득하는 것에 응답하여, 상기 스위치에 전압을 제공함으로써 상기 스위치의 동작을 제어하는 동작을 더 포함하도록 구성되는,
    배터리 상태 관리 방법.
  11. 청구항 9항에 있어서,
    상기 스위치에 의해, 상기 제1 센서와 상이한 상기 제2 센서에 전원을 공급하는 상기 제2 전력 공급 회로를 상기 제1 전력 공급 회로와 전기적으로 연결시키는 동작은,
    상기 스위치에 의해, 상기 스위치가 상기 전력 제어 회로와 전기적으로 연결되어, 상기 전력 공급 회로로부터 전압을 획득하는 것에 기반하여, 상기 제2 전력 공급 회로를 상기 제1 전력 공급 회로와 전기적으로 연결시켜 상기 제2 센서에 전원을 공급하는 동작을 포함하는,
    배터리 상태 관리 방법.
  12. 청구항 9항에 있어서,
    상기 제1 전력 공급 회로는,
    LC 필터, CLC 필터, 또는 이들의 어느 조합 중 적어도 하나; 및
    상기 제1 센서의 정격 전압 크기만큼의 전원을 상기 제1 센서에게 제공하는 제1 LDO(low dropout; LDO)을 포함하고,
    상기 제2 전력 공급 회로는,
    상기 제2 센서의 정격 전압 크기만큼의 전원을 상기 제2 센서에게 제공하는 제2 LDO을 포함하도록 구성되는,
    배터리 상태 관리 방법.
  13. 청구항 9항에 있어서,
    활성화 회로에 의해, 상기 제1 전력 공급 회로와 상기 제2 전력 공급 회로가 전기적으로 연결되는 것에 기반하여, 배터리 상태 관리 장치의 외부의 중앙 제어 장치를 활성화하는 신호를 상기 중앙 제어 장치에게 전달하는 동작을 더 포함하고,
    상기 활성화 회로의 일 단자는,
    상기 중앙 제어 장치와 전기적으로 연결되도록 구성되고
    상기 활성화 회로의 타 단자는,
    상기 제2 전력 공급 회로와 전기적으로 연결되도록 구성되는,
    배터리 상태 관리 방법.
  14. 청구항 9항에 있어서,
    MCU(micro controller unit)에 의해, 상기 제1 센서의 측정 값, 상기 제2 센서의 측정 값, 또는 이들의 어느 조합 중 적어도 하나를 CAN(controller area network) 트랜시버에 전달하는 동작을 더 포함하고,

    상기 MCU의 제4 단자는,
    상기 전력 제어 회로와 전기적으로 연결되도록 구성되는,
    배터리 상태 관리 방법.
  15. 청구항 14항에 있어서,
    상기 CAN 트랜시버에 의해, 상기 제1 센서의 측정 값, 상기 제2 센서의 측정 값, 또는 이들의 어느 조합 중 적어도 하나를 식별하는 동작을 더 포함하고,
    상기 CAN 트랜시버의 일 단자는,
    상기 제2 전력 공급 회로와 전기적으로 연결되도록 구성되고,
    상기 CAN 트랜시버의 타 단자는,
    상기 MCU와 전기적으로 연결되도록 구성되는,
    배터리 상태 관리 방법.
  16. 청구항 9항에 있어서,
    상기 제1 센서는,
    기준치 이하의 전력에 따른 저전력 모드에서, 제1 전력 공급 회로를 통해 전원을 공급받도록 구성되고,
    상기 제2 센서는,
    상기 저전력 모드에서, 상기 제1 전력 공급 회로와 상기 제2 전력 공급 회로가 전기적으로 연결되는지 여부에 따라 전원을 공급받도록 구성되는,
