Abstract

Description

弾性波装置及びフィルタ装置
 本発明は、弾性波装置及びフィルタ装置に関する。
 従来、弾性波装置が、携帯電話機のフィルタなどに広く用いられている。近年においては、下記の特許文献1に記載のような、厚み滑りモードのバルク波を用いた弾性波装置が提案されている。この弾性波装置においては、支持体上に圧電層が設けられている。圧電層上に、複数の電極指を有するIDT(Interdigital Transducer)電極が設けられている。IDT電極における隣り合う電極指同士は、互いに異なる電位に接続される。隣り合う電極指間に交流電圧を印加することにより、厚み滑りモードのバルク波が励振される。
 上記の弾性波装置においては、電極指ピッチが互いに異なり、かつ電極指の幅が互いに異なる2種の領域が、交互に並んでいる。これにより、不要波の抑制が図られている。
米国特許出願公開第2021/0067138号明細書
 しかしながら、特許文献1に記載の弾性波装置においては、波の漏洩や、エネルギーの歪を考慮したパラメータの設定はなされていない。そのため、ロスを十分に低減させることや、耐電力性を十分に高くすることができないおそれがある。
 本発明の目的は、ロスを低減させることができ、耐電力性を高くすることができる、弾性波装置及びフィルタ装置を提供することにある。
 本発明に係る弾性波装置は、支持部材と、前記支持部材上に設けられており、圧電体層を含む圧電膜と、前記圧電膜上に設けられており、複数の電極指を有する少なくとも1つのIDT電極とを備え、平面視において、前記支持部材における、少なくとも1つの前記IDT電極と重なる位置に音響反射部が設けられており、前記圧電膜の厚みをdとし、前記IDT電極における電極指ピッチの平均値をP0としたときに、前記少なくとも1つのIDT電極において、d/P0が0.5以下であり、前記少なくとも1つのIDT電極において、電極指ピッチ及び前記電極指の幅のうち少なくとも一方が変化しており、連続する3本の前記電極指において、一方の電極指ピッチをP1、他方の電極指ピッチをP2とし、連続する3本の前記電極指の幅のうち最も広い幅をMmax、最も狭い幅をMminとしたときに、前記少なくとも1つのIDT電極の少なくとも一部において、下記の式(1)及び式(2)のうち少なくとも一方により表される隣接チャープ率が0°よりも大きく、該IDT電極の全体において、下記の式(1)及び式(2)の双方により表される隣接チャープ率が0.6°以下である。

 本発明に係るフィルタ装置のある広い局面では、複数の共振子が備えられており、前記複数の共振子が、少なくとも1つの直列腕共振子及び少なくとも1つの並列腕共振子のうち少なくとも一方を含み、前記複数の共振子のうち少なくとも1つが、本発明に従い構成されている弾性波装置である。
 本発明に係るフィルタ装置の他の広い局面では、本発明に従い構成されている弾性波装置と、前記弾性波装置における2つの弾性波共振子以外の少なくとも1つの共振子とを備え、前記2つの弾性波共振子が、互いに並列に接続された直列腕共振子、及び互いに並列に接続された並列腕共振子のうち一方である。
 本発明に係る弾性波装置及びフィルタ装置によれば、ロスを低減させることができ、耐電力性を高くすることができる。

 以下、図面を参照しつつ、本発明の具体的な実施形態を説明することにより、本発明を明らかにする。
 なお、本明細書に記載の各実施形態は、例示的なものであり、異なる実施形態間において、構成の部分的な置換または組み合わせが可能であることを指摘しておく。
 図1は、本発明の第1の実施形態に係る弾性波装置の模式的平面図である。図2は、図1中のI-I線に沿う模式的断面図である。
 図1に示すように、弾性波装置1は、圧電性基板2と、IDT電極7とを有する。圧電性基板2は圧電性を有する基板である。図2に示すように、圧電性基板2は、支持部材3と、圧電膜としての圧電体層6とを有する。圧電体層6は圧電体からなる層である。一方で、本明細書において圧電膜とは、圧電性を有する膜であって、必ずしも圧電体からなる膜を指すものではない。もっとも、本実施形態では、圧電膜は単層の圧電体層6であり、圧電体からなる膜である。なお、本発明においては、圧電膜は、圧電体層6を含む積層膜であってもよい。
 本実施形態では、支持部材3は、支持基板4と、絶縁層5とを含む。支持基板4上に絶縁層5が設けられている。絶縁層5上に圧電体層6が設けられている。もっとも、支持部材3は支持基板4のみにより構成されていてもよい。
 圧電体層6は第1の主面6a及び第2の主面6bを有する。第1の主面6a及び第2の主面6bは互いに対向している。第1の主面6a及び第2の主面6bのうち、第2の主面6bが支持部材3側に位置している。
 支持基板4の材料としては、例えば、シリコンなどの半導体や、酸化アルミニウムなどのセラミックスなどを用いることができる。絶縁層5の材料としては、酸化ケイ素または酸化タンタルなどの、適宜の誘電体を用いることができる。圧電体層6は、例えば、LiNbOなどのニオブ酸リチウムからなっていてもよく、あるいは、LiTaOなどのタンタル酸リチウムからなっていてもよい。なお、本実施形態では、圧電体層6はニオブ酸リチウムからなる。本明細書において、ある部材がある材料からなるとは、弾性波装置の電気的特性が大きく劣化しない程度の微量な不純物が含まれる場合を含む。
 圧電膜としての圧電体層6における第1の主面6aには、1つのIDT電極7が設けられている。本実施形態の弾性波装置1は、厚み滑りモードのバルク波を利用可能に構成された1つの弾性波共振子である。弾性波装置1は、例えば、ラダー型フィルタにおける直列腕共振子または並列腕共振子として用いることができる。
 もっとも、本発明においては、圧電膜上に複数のIDT電極が設けられていてもよい。それによって、IDT電極をそれぞれ含む複数の弾性波共振子が構成されていてもよい。このように、本発明の弾性波装置は、1つの弾性波共振子である場合に限られず、複数の弾性波共振子を有する素子であってもよい。この場合、弾性波装置としての素子を、例えば、フィルタ装置の一部として用いることができる。
 図1に示すように、本実施形態のIDT電極7は、1対のバスバーと、複数の電極指とを有する。1対のバスバーは、具体的には、第1のバスバー16及び第2のバスバー17である。第1のバスバー16及び第2のバスバー17は互いに対向している。複数の電極指は、具体的には、複数の第1の電極指18及び複数の第2の電極指19である。複数の第1の電極指18の一端はそれぞれ、第1のバスバー16に接続されている。複数の第2の電極指19の一端はそれぞれ、第2のバスバー17に接続されている。複数の第1の電極指18及び複数の第2の電極指19は互いに間挿し合っている。第1の電極指18及び第2の電極指19は、互いに異なる電位に接続される。IDT電極7は、単層の金属膜からなっていてもよく、あるいは、積層金属膜からなっていてもよい。
 以下においては、第1の電極指18及び第2の電極指19をまとめて、単に電極指と記載することがある。本明細書では、隣り合う電極指同士の中心間距離、すなわち隣り合う第1の電極指18及び第2の電極指19の中心間距離を、電極指ピッチと記載することがある。複数の電極指が延びる方向を電極指延伸方向とし、電極指延伸方向と直交する方向を電極指直交方向とする。
 本実施形態では、IDT電極7において、電極指の幅は一定である。電極指の幅は、電極指の電極指直交方向に沿う寸法である。一方で、IDT電極7においては、電極指ピッチが変化している。言い換えれば、IDT電極7は、電極指ピッチが互いに異なる部分を有する。もっとも、本発明では、少なくとも1つのIDT電極において、電極指ピッチ及び電極指の幅のうち少なくとも一方が変化していればよい。
 本実施形態では、電極指ピッチが、IDT電極7における中央に向かうにつれて大きくなっている。なお、電極指ピッチが変化している態様は上記に限定されない。
 図1に示すように、弾性波装置1は交叉領域Fを有する。交叉領域Fは、第1の電極指18及び第2の電極指19が電極指直交方向において重なり合っている領域である。以下においては、交叉領域Fの電極指延伸方向に沿う寸法を交叉幅とする。
 交叉領域Fは複数の励振領域Cを含む。より具体的には、隣り合う第1の電極指18及び第2の電極指19が電極指直交方向において重なり合っている領域であり、かつ隣り合う第1の電極指18及び第2の電極指19の中心間の領域が励振領域Cである。なお、図1においては、複数の励振領域Cのうち2つのみの励振領域Cを示している。
 弾性波装置1は、厚み滑りモードのバルク波をメインモードとして利用可能に構成された弾性波共振子である。IDT電極7に交流電圧を印加することにより、各励振領域Cにおいて、厚み滑りモードのバルク波が励振される。より具体的には、弾性波装置1においては、圧電膜の厚みをd、電極指ピッチの平均値をP0とした場合、d/P0が0.5以下である。これにより、厚み滑りモードのバルク波が、各励振領域Cにおいて好適に励振される。なお、本実施形態では、厚みdは圧電体層6の厚みである。
 本実施形態の特徴は、厚み滑りモードのバルク波をメインモードとして利用可能に構成されており、IDT電極7の少なくとも一部において、後述する隣接チャープ率が0°よりも大きく、かつ0.6°以下であることにある。それによって、ロスを低減させることができ、耐電力性を高くすることができる。これを、隣接チャープ率などの詳細と共に、以下において説明する。
 図3(a)及び図3(b)は、隣接チャープ率を説明するための模式図である。
 図3(a)に示すように、連続する3本の電極指において、一方の電極指ピッチをP1、他方の電極指ピッチをP2とする。連続する3本の電極指のうち一方端の電極指の幅をM1、中央の電極指の幅をM2、他方端の電極指の幅をM3とする。連続する3本の電極指の幅のうち最も広い幅をMmax、最も狭い幅をMminとする。
 図3(a)により示す例では、IDT電極において、電極指の幅は一定であり、M1=M2=M3である。そのため、Mmax=Mminである。一方で、IDT電極において、電極指ピッチは変化している。隣接する電極指の中心間の領域同士において、電極指ピッチが変化している度合いを示す指標が、隣接チャープ率の2つの概念のうち1つである。当該指標としての隣接チャープ率は、下記の式(1)により表すことができる。

 図3(b)により示す例では、IDT電極において、電極指ピッチは一定であり、P1=P2である。一方で、IDT電極において、電極指の幅は変化している。具体的には、連続する3本の電極指のうち一方端の電極指の幅M1が最も狭く、他方端の電極指の幅M3が最も広い。そのため、M1=Mminであり、M3=Mmaxである。連続する3本の電極指において、幅が変化している度合いを示す指標が、隣接チャープ率の2つの概念のうち残りの1つである。当該指標としての隣接チャープ率は、下記の式(2)により表すことができる。

 第1の実施形態の構成は、図3(a)に示す構成に該当する。図1に示す第1の実施形態のIDT電極7においては、式(1)により表される隣接チャープ率が0°よりも大きく、かつ0.6°以下である。他方、式(2)により表される隣接チャープ率は0°である。
 なお、本発明では、IDT電極の少なくとも一部において、式(1)及び式(2)のうち少なくとも一方により表される隣接チャープ率が0°よりも大きければよい。該IDT電極において、式(1)及び式(2)の双方により表される隣接チャープ率が0.6°以下であればよい。
 連続する3本の電極指に関するパラメータである隣接チャープ率に対して、IDT電極全体に対するパラメータは、チャープ強度である。なお、以下においては、IDT電極全体において、最も長い電極指ピッチをPa_max、最も短い電極指ピッチをPa_minとする。IDT電極全体において、複数の電極指の幅のうち最も広い幅をMa_max、最も狭い幅をMa_minとする。IDT電極における複数の電極指の幅の平均値をM0とする。
 図4(a)及び図4(b)は、チャープ強度を説明するための図である。なお、図4(a)は、IDT電極の電極指直交方向における位置と、電極指ピッチとの関係の一例を示す。図4(b)は、IDT電極の電極指直交方向における位置と、電極指の幅との関係の一例を示す。
 図4(a)に示す例の構成は、第1の実施形態と同様の構成である。具体的には、図4(a)に示す構成では、電極指ピッチの値が、IDT電極における中央に向かうにつれて大きくなっている。そして、IDT電極の中央における電極指ピッチが、Pa_maxとなっている。IDT電極の電極指直交方向における両端の部分の電極指ピッチが、Pa_minとなっている。IDT電極における、電極指ピッチの最大値及び最小値の差の度合いを示す指標が、チャープ強度の2つの概念のうち1つである。当該指標としてのチャープ強度は、下記の式(3)により表すことができる。

 図4(b)に示す例では、電極指の幅の値が、IDT電極における中央に向かうにつれて大きくなっている。そして、IDT電極の中央における電極指の幅が、Ma_maxとなっている。IDT電極の電極指直交方向における両端の電極指の幅が、Ma_minとなっている。IDT電極における、電極指の幅の最大値及び最小値の差の度合いを示す指標が、チャープ強度の2つの概念のうち残りの1つである。当該指標としてのチャープ強度は、下記の式(4)により表すことができる。

 図4(a)に示す例のような構成、あるいは第1の実施形態の構成では、式(1)により表される隣接チャープ率が大きいほど、式(3)により表されるチャープ強度が大きくなる。他方、図4(b)に示すような構成では、式(2)により表される隣接チャープ率が大きいほど、式(4)により表されるチャープ強度が大きくなる。
 図1に示す第1の実施形態においては、厚み滑りモードのバルク波をメインモードとして利用可能されており、IDT電極7において、電極指ピッチが変化しており、式(1)により表される隣接チャープ率が0°よりも大きく、かつ0.6°以下である。それによって、ロスを低減させることができ、耐電力性を高くすることができる。この効果の詳細を、以下において説明する。
 図4(a)に示す例の構成において、式(1)により表される隣接チャープ率及び式(3)により表されるチャープ強度を変化させる毎に、変位をシミュレーションにより導出した。より詳細には、電極指が設けられている部分、電極指間の部分、及びIDT電極の外側における変位を導出した。
 そして、IDT電極の外側における変位の総計の、IDT電極が設けられている部分全体における変位の総計に対する比率である、外部変位比率を算出した。IDT電極の外側における変位の総計をO、IDT電極が設けられている部分全体における変位の総計をIとしたときに、外部変位比率はO/I×100[%]である。外部変位比率が大きいほど、弾性波のエネルギーが漏洩している度合いが大きく、ロスが大きい。
 さらに、電極指が設けられている部分における変位の総計の、IDT電極が設けられている部分全体における変位の総計Iに対する比率である、電極指変位比率を算出した。電極指が設けられている部分における変位の総計をEとしたときに、電極指変位比率はE/I×100[%]である。電極指変位比率が大きいほど、IDT電極に電力を印加した際、ストレスマイグレーションが生じ易く、IDT電極が劣化し易い。すなわち、電極指変位比率が大きいほど、耐電力性が低い。
 当該検討に係る図4(a)に示す構成における基準の設計パラメータは以下の通りである。
 電極指ピッチの平均値P0:4.26μm
 電極指の幅:0.96μm
 デューティ比:0.225
 電極指の本数:61本
 交叉幅:55.11μm
 なお、上記の各変位の導出や、外部変位比率及び電極指変位比率の算出に際しては、隣接チャープ率及びチャープ強度を、表1に示す水準1~水準11のように変化させた。このとき、上記基準の設計パラメータから、電極指ピッチを変化させた。水準1~水準11としたそれぞれの場合における電極指ピッチの変化の態様を、図5によって示す。
 図5は、水準1~水準11としたそれぞれの場合の、IDT電極の電極指直交方向における位置と、電極指ピッチとの関係を示す図である。図5における横軸の数値は、IDT電極の電極指直交方向における一方端から何番目に並んでいる電極指であるかを示す。
 水準1では、IDT電極において電極指ピッチは変化していない。水準2~水準7は、第1の実施形態の構成に相当する。一方で、水準8~水準11は、第1の実施形態の構成には相当しない。
 図6は、隣接チャープ率と、外部変位比率との関係を示す図である。図7は、隣接チャープ率と、電極指変位比率との関係を示す図である。
 図6に示すように、隣接チャープ率が0.6°を超える場合には、外部変位比率は特に加速度的に大きくなっている。一方で、隣接チャープ率が0.6°以下である場合には、外部変位比率が小さい。よって、第1の実施形態のように、隣接チャープ率を0.6°以下とすることにより、エネルギーの漏洩を抑制することができ、ロスを低減させることができる。
 図7に示すように、隣接チャープ率が0.6°以下である場合、隣接チャープ率が大きくなるほど、電極指変位比率が大きくなっている。一方で、隣接チャープ率が0.6°を超える場合には、隣接チャープ率が大きくなっても、電極指変位比率は一定値付近を上下している。よって、第1の実施形態のように、隣接チャープ率を0.6°以下とすることにより、電極指変位比率を小さくすることができ、耐電力性を高くすることができる。
 なお、上記のように、IDT電極の少なくとも一部において、式(1)及び式(2)のうち少なくとも一方により表される隣接チャープ率が0°よりも大きければよい。もっとも、IDT電極の電極指直交方向における全体のうち、20%以上の部分において、式(1)及び式(2)のうち少なくとも一方により表される隣接チャープ率が0°よりも大きいことが好ましい。該IDT電極の全体において、式(1)及び式(2)の双方により表される隣接チャープ率が0.6°以下であることが好ましい。それによって、ロスをより確実に低減させることができ、耐電力性をより確実に高くすることができる。
 一方で、式(3)及び式(4)のうち少なくとも一方により表されるチャープ強度が5%以上であることが好ましい。それによって、不要波を抑制することができる。この詳細を以下において説明する。

 図4(a)に示す構成の例の弾性波装置を、ラダー型フィルタにおける並列腕共振子とした場合において、式(1)により表される隣接チャープ率及び式(3)により表されるチャープ強度を変化させる毎に、インピーダンス周波数特性を導出した。一方で、図4(a)に示す構成の例の弾性波装置を、ラダー型フィルタにおける直列腕共振子とした場合においても、式(1)により表される隣接チャープ率及び式(3)により表されるチャープ強度を変化させる毎に、インピーダンス周波数特性を導出した。
 なお、インピーダンス周波数特性の導出に際しては、隣接チャープ率及びチャープ強度を、表1に示す水準1~水準5のように変化させた。
 図8は、並列腕共振子における、隣接チャープ率及びチャープ強度と、インピーダンス周波数特性との関係を示す図である。図9は、直列腕共振子における、隣接チャープ率及びチャープ強度と、インピーダンス周波数特性との関係を示す図である。
 図8に示すように、並列腕共振子においては、チャープ強度が5%以上である場合において、共振周波数よりも低い、3800MHz付近における不要波が抑制されている。反共振周波数よりも高い、5350MHz付近における不要波も抑制されている。加えて、チャープ強度が10%以上である場合には、双方の不要波はより抑制されている。
 図9に示すように、直列腕共振子においては、チャープ強度が5%以上である場合において、反共振周波数よりも高い、5800MHz付近における不要波も抑制されている。チャープ強度が10%以上である場合には、当該不要波はより抑制されている。
 以上のように、チャープ強度が5%以上であることが好ましく、10%以上であることがより好ましい。それによって、弾性波装置が、直列腕共振子及び並列腕共振子のいずれとして用いられた場合においても、不要波を抑制することができる。
 以下において、第1の実施形態の構成をより詳細に説明する。
 図2に示すように、絶縁層5には凹部が設けられている。絶縁層5上に、凹部を塞ぐように、圧電膜としての圧電体層6が設けられている。これにより、中空部が構成されている。この中空部が空洞部2aである。第1の実施形態では、支持部材3の一部及び圧電膜の一部が、空洞部2aを挟み互いに対向するように、支持部材3と圧電膜とが配置されている。もっとも、支持部材3における凹部は、絶縁層5及び支持基板4にわたり設けられていてもよい。あるいは、支持基板4のみに設けられた凹部が、絶縁層5により塞がれていてもよい。凹部は、例えば、圧電体層6に設けられていても構わない。なお、空洞部2aは、支持部材3に設けられた貫通孔であってもよい。
 平面視において、IDT電極7の少なくとも一部が、支持部材3の空洞部2aと重なっている。本明細書において平面視とは、図2における上方に相当する方向から、支持部材3及び圧電膜の積層方向に沿って見ることをいう。なお、図2においては、例えば、支持基板4側及び圧電体層6側のうち、圧電体層6側が上方である。さらに、本明細書において平面視は、主面対向方向から見ることと同義であるとする。主面対向方向とは、圧電体層6の第1の主面6a及び第2の主面6bが対向し合う方向である。より具体的には、主面対向方向は、例えば、第1の主面6aの法線方向である。
 図2に示す空洞部2aは、本発明における音響反射部である。弾性波を、音響反射部により圧電体層6側に反射させることができる。これにより、弾性波のエネルギーを圧電体層6側に効果的に閉じ込めることができる。複数の励振領域Cが、音響反射部と平面視において重なっていることが好ましい。それによって、弾性波のエネルギーを圧電体層6側に、より確実に、効果的に閉じ込めることができる。
 なお、音響反射部として、後述する音響反射膜が設けられていてもよい。例えば、支持部材の表面上に、音響反射膜が設けられていてもよい。
 第1の実施形態においては、電極指ピッチの値が、IDT電極7における中央に向かうにつれて大きくなっている。この場合には、隣接チャープ率を0°よりも大きくしつつ、隣接チャープ率を小さくし易い。もっとも、IDT電極7において、電極指ピッチが変化している態様は上記に限定されない。
 ここで、IDT電極において、電極指ピッチが変化している態様のみが第1の実施形態と異なる、第2の実施形態及び第3の実施形態を示す。第2の実施形態及び第3の実施形態においても、式(1)により表される隣接チャープ率が0°よりも大きく、かつ式(1)及び式(2)の双方により表される隣接チャープ率が0.6°以下である。それによって、ロスを低減させることができ、耐電力性を高くすることができる。
 図10は、第2の実施形態に係る弾性波装置の模式的平面図である。
 本実施形態においては、電極指ピッチの値が、IDT電極7Aにおける中央に向かうにつれて小さくなっている。本実施形態においても、第1の実施形態と同様に、隣接チャープ率を0°よりも大きくしつつ、隣接チャープ率を小さくし易い。
 図11は、第3の実施形態に係る弾性波装置の模式的平面図である。
 本実施形態においては、電極指ピッチの値が、IDT電極7Bの電極指直交方向における一方端から他方端に向かうにつれて小さくなっている。本実施形態においては、隣接チャープ率を0°よりも大きくしつつ、隣接チャープ率をより一層小さくし易い。
 第1~第3の実施形態では、IDT電極において、電極指ピッチが変化しており、電極指の幅は変化していない。もっとも、本発明では、IDT電極の少なくとも一部において、式(1)及び式(2)のうち少なくとも一方により表される隣接チャープ率が、0°よりも大きければよい。該IDT電極の全体において、式(1)及び式(2)の双方により表される隣接チャープ率が、0.6°以下であればよい。第4の実施形態により、IDT電極において電極指の幅が変化している場合の例を示す。

 図12は、第4の実施形態に係る弾性波装置の模式的平面図である。図13は、図12中のI-I線に沿う模式的断面図である。
 図12及び図13に示すように、本実施形態は、IDT電極27において、電極指の幅が変化しており、電極指ピッチが変化していない点で、第1の実施形態と異なる。すなわち、本実施形態は、式(1)により表される隣接チャープ率が0°である点において第1の実施形態と異なる。本実施形態は、式(2)により表される隣接チャープ率が、0°より大きく、かつ0.6°以下である点においても、第1の実施形態と異なる。上記の点以外においては、本実施形態の弾性波装置21は第1の実施形態の弾性波装置1と同様の構成を有する。
 本実施形態の構成は、図4(b)に示す例と同様の構成である。より具体的には、弾性波装置21においては、電極指の幅の値が、IDT電極27における中央に向かうにつれて大きくなっている。
 本実施形態においても、第1の実施形態と同様に、ロスを低減させることができ、耐電力性を高くすることができる。この詳細を以下において示す。
 図4(b)に示す例の構成において、式(2)により表される隣接チャープ率、及び下記の式(4)により表されるチャープ強度を変化させる毎に、変位をシミュレーションにより導出した。より詳細には、電極指が設けられている部分、電極指間の部分、及びIDT電極の外側における変位を導出した。

 そして、外部変位比率及び電極指変位比率を算出した。外部変位比率は、上述したように、IDT電極の外側における変位の総計Oの、IDT電極が設けられている部分全体における変位の総計Iに対する比率であり、O/I×100[%]である。電極指変位比率は、電極指が設けられている部分における変位の総計Eの、IDT電極が設けられている部分全体における変位の総計Iに対する比率であり、E/I×100[%]である。当該検討に係る図4(b)に示す構成における基準の設計パラメータは以下の通りである。
 電極指ピッチの平均値P0:4.26μm
 電極指の幅:0.96μm

 電極指の本数:61本

 なお、上記の各変位の導出や、外部変位比率及び電極指変位比率の算出に際しては、隣接チャープ率及びチャープ強度を、表2に示す水準1~水準11のように変化させた。このとき、上記基準の設計パラメータから、電極指の幅を変化させた。水準1~水準11としたそれぞれの場合における電極指の幅の変化の態様を、図14によって示す。
 図14は、水準1~水準11としたそれぞれの場合の、IDT電極の電極指直交方向における位置と、電極指の幅との関係を示す図である。図14における横軸の数値は、IDT電極の電極指直交方向における一方端から何番目に並んでいる電極指であるかを示す。
 水準1では、IDT電極において電極指の幅は変化していない。水準2~水準7は、第4の実施形態の構成に相当する。一方で、水準8~水準11は、第4の実施形態の構成には相当しない。
 図15は、隣接チャープ率と、外部変位比率との関係を示す図である。図16は、隣接チャープ率と、電極指変位比率との関係を示す図である。
 図15に示すように、隣接チャープ率が0.6°を超える場合には、外部変位比率は特に大きくなっている。一方で、隣接チャープ率が0.6°以下である場合には、外部変位比率が小さい。よって、第4の実施形態のように、隣接チャープ率を0.6°以下とすることにより、エネルギーの漏洩を抑制することができ、ロスを低減させることができる。
 図16に示すように、隣接チャープ率が大きくなるほど、電極指変位比率が大きくなっている。隣接チャープ率が0.6°を超えて、0.86°となるまでは、電極指変位比率は加速度的に大きくなっている。よって、第4の実施形態のように、隣接チャープ率を0.6°以下とすることにより、電極指変位比率を小さくすることができ、耐電力性を高くすることができる。
 一方で、IDT電極において電極指ピッチが変化している場合と同様に、電極指の幅が変化している場合においても、チャープ強度が5%以上であることが好ましい。それによって、不要波を抑制することができる。この詳細を以下において説明する。
 図4(b)に示す構成の例の弾性波装置を、ラダー型フィルタにおける並列腕共振子とした場合において、式(2)により表される隣接チャープ率及び式(4)により表されるチャープ強度を変化させる毎に、インピーダンス周波数特性を導出した。一方で、図4(b)に示す構成の例の弾性波装置を、ラダー型フィルタにおける直列腕共振子とした場合においても、式(2)により表される隣接チャープ率及び式(4)により表されるチャープ強度を変化させる毎に、インピーダンス周波数特性を導出した。
 なお、インピーダンス周波数特性の導出に際しては、隣接チャープ率及びチャープ強度を、表2に示す水準1~水準5のように変化させた。
 図17は、並列腕共振子における、隣接チャープ率及びチャープ強度と、インピーダンス周波数特性との関係を示す図である。図18は、直列腕共振子における、隣接チャープ率及びチャープ強度と、インピーダンス周波数特性との関係を示す図である。
 図17に示すように、並列腕共振子においては、チャープ強度が5%以上である場合において、共振周波数よりも低い、3800MHz付近における不要波が抑制されている。反共振周波数よりも高い、5350MHz付近における不要波も抑制されている。加えて、チャープ強度が10%以上である場合には、双方の不要波はより抑制されている。
 図18に示すように、直列腕共振子においては、チャープ強度が5%以上である場合において、共振周波数よりも低い、3900MHz付近における不要波が抑制されている。反共振周波数よりも高い、5800MHz付近における不要波も抑制されている。さらに、共振周波数及び反共振周波数の間の、5250MHz付近における不要波も抑制されている。加えて、チャープ強度が10%以上である場合には、3つの不要波はより抑制されている。特に、共振周波数及び反共振周波数の間の不要波は効果的に抑制されている。
 以上のように、チャープ強度が5%以上であることが好ましく、10%以上であることがより好ましい。それによって、弾性波装置が、直列腕共振子及び並列腕共振子のいずれとして用いられた場合においても、不要波を抑制することができる。
 第4の実施形態においては、電極指の幅の値が、IDT電極27における中央に向かうにつれて大きくなっている。この場合には、隣接チャープ率を0°よりも大きくしつつ、隣接チャープ率を小さくし易い。もっとも、IDT電極27において、電極指の幅が変化している態様は上記に限定されない。
 ここで、IDT電極において、電極指の幅が変化している態様のみが第4の実施形態と異なる、第5の実施形態及び第6の実施形態を示す。第5の実施形態及び第6の実施形態においても、式(2)により表される隣接チャープ率が0°よりも大きく、かつ式(1)及び式(2)の双方により表される隣接チャープ率が0.6°以下である。それによって、ロスを低減させることができ、耐電力性を高くすることができる。
 図19は、第5の実施形態に係る弾性波装置の模式的平面図である。
 本実施形態においては、電極指の幅の値が、IDT電極27Aにおける中央に向かうにつれて小さくなっている。本実施形態においても、第4の実施形態と同様に、隣接チャープ率を0°よりも大きくしつつ、隣接チャープ率を小さくし易い。
 図20は、第6の実施形態に係る弾性波装置の模式的平面図である。
 本実施形態においては、電極指の幅の値が、IDT電極27Bの電極指直交方向における一方端から他方端に向かうにつれて小さくなっている。本実施形態においては、隣接チャープ率を0°よりも大きくしつつ、隣接チャープ率をより一層小さくし易い。
 第1~第6の実施形態では、IDT電極において、電極指ピッチ及び電極指の幅のうち一方が変化している例を示した。なお、上述したように、IDT電極において、電極指ピッチ及び電極指の幅のうち少なくとも一方が変化していればよい。IDT電極において、電極指ピッチ及び電極指の幅の双方が変化している例を、第7の実施形態により示す。
 図21は、第7の実施形態に係る弾性波装置の模式的平面図である。
 本実施形態は、IDT電極27Cにおいて、電極指ピッチ及び電極指の幅の双方が変化している点において第1の実施形態と異なる。上記の点以外においては、本実施形態の弾性波装置は第1の実施形態の弾性波装置1と同様の構成を有する。
 IDT電極27Cは、広ピッチ領域A1と、狭ピッチ領域A2とを有する。具体的には、広ピッチ領域A1は、電極指ピッチの平均値P0よりも電極指ピッチの値が大きい領域である。狭ピッチ領域A2は、電極指ピッチの平均値P0よりも電極指ピッチの値が小さい領域である。なお、第1~第3の実施形態におけるIDT電極も、広ピッチ領域A1及び狭ピッチ領域A2を有することを指摘しておく。
 IDT電極27Cにおいては、広ピッチ領域A1における電極指の幅の値が、該IDT電極27Cにおける複数の電極指の幅の平均値M0よりも小さい。一方で、狭ピッチ領域A2における電極指の幅の値は、平均値M0よりも大きい。
 例えば、2つの弾性波共振子同士において、IDT電極の電極指ピッチが互いに異なる場合には、メインモードの共振周波数が互いに異なる。これと同様にして、1つの弾性波共振子におけるIDT電極において、電極指ピッチが互いに異なる領域同士では、メインモードの共振周波数が互いに異なる。具体的には、電極指ピッチが広い領域においては、メインモードの共振周波数は低い。一方で、電極指の幅も、共振周波数に対して影響する。具体的には、電極指の幅が狭い領域においては、メインモードの共振周波数は高い。
 本実施形態のIDT電極27Cにおいては、広ピッチ領域A1における電極指の幅の値が、該IDT電極27Cにおける複数の電極指の幅の平均値M0よりも小さい。狭ピッチ領域A2における電極指の幅の値が、平均値M0よりも大きい。それによって、弾性波装置における、メインモードの共振周波数の変動を抑制することができる。これにより、弾性波装置のQ値が低くなることを抑制できる。
 本実施形態においては、電極指ピッチや電極指の幅に対する感度が高い不要波の抑制、及び弾性波装置のQ値が低くなることの抑制を両立できる。
 加えて、本実施形態では、IDT電極27Cにおいて、式(1)及び式(2)のうち少なくとも一方により表される隣接チャープ率が0°よりも大きい。該IDT電極27Cの全体において、式(1)及び式(2)の双方により表される隣接チャープ率が0.6°以下である。それによって、ロスを低減させることができ、耐電力性を高くすることができる。
 ところで、図2に示す第1の実施形態においては、弾性波装置1における音響反射部は空洞部2aである。第2~第7の実施形態においても同様である。なお、音響反射部は、音響反射膜であってもよい。この例を第8の実施形態により示す。
 図22は、第8の実施形態に係る弾性波装置の模式的正面断面図である。
 本実施形態は、音響反射部が音響反射膜34である点において、第1の実施形態と異なる。本実施形態は、支持部材33が支持基板のみからなる点においても第1の実施形態と異なる。上記の点以外においては、本実施形態の弾性波装置は第1の実施形態の弾性波装置1と同様の構成を有する。
 支持部材33の表面に音響反射膜34が設けられている。音響反射膜34上に、圧電膜としての圧電体層6が設けられている。なお、支持部材33の少なくとも一部及び圧電膜の少なくとも一部が、音響反射膜34を挟み互いに対向するように、支持部材33と圧電膜とが配置されていればよい。
 音響反射膜34は複数の音響インピーダンス層の積層体である。具体的には、音響反射膜34は、複数の低音響インピーダンス層と、複数の高音響インピーダンス層とを有する。低音響インピーダンス層は、相対的に音響インピーダンスが低い層である。より詳細には、低音響インピーダンス層は、音響反射膜34における隣接する層よりも、音響インピーダンスが低い層である。音響反射膜34における複数の低音響インピーダンス層は、より具体的には、低音響インピーダンス層37a、低音響インピーダンス層37b及び低音響インピーダンス層37cである。
 一方で、高音響インピーダンス層は、相対的に音響インピーダンスが高い層である。より詳細には、高音響インピーダンス層は、音響反射膜34における隣接する層よりも、音響インピーダンスが高い層である。音響反射膜34における複数の高音響インピーダンス層は、より具体的には、高音響インピーダンス層38a及び高音響インピーダンス層38bである。低音響インピーダンス層及び高音響インピーダンス層は交互に積層されている。なお、低音響インピーダンス層37aが、音響反射膜34において最も圧電体層6側に位置する音響インピーダンス層である。
 音響反射膜34は、低音響インピーダンス層を3層有し、高音響インピーダンス層を2層有する。もっとも、音響反射膜34は、低音響インピーダンス層及び高音響インピーダンス層をそれぞれ少なくとも1層ずつ有していればよい。
 低音響インピーダンス層の材料としては、例えば、酸化ケイ素などの誘電体や、アルミニウムまたはチタンなどの金属を用いることができる。高音響インピーダンス層の材料としては、例えば、窒化アルミニウム、窒化ケイ素または酸化ハフニウムなどの誘電体や、白金またはタングステンなどの金属を用いることができる。
 本実施形態においても、弾性波装置は、厚み滑りモードのバルク波をメインモードとして利用可能に構成されている。IDT電極7において、電極指ピッチが変化しており、式(1)により表される隣接チャープ率が0°よりも大きく、式(1)及び式(2)の双方により表される隣接チャープ率が0.6°以下である。それによって、第1の実施形態と同様に、ロスを低減させることができ、耐電力性を高くすることができる。
 本実施形態における、音響反射部が音響反射膜34である構成は、本実施形態以外の本発明の構成にも適用することができる。
 上記の第1~第8の実施形態により、弾性波装置が1つの弾性波共振子である例を示した。もっとも、本発明に係る弾性波装置は、複数の弾性波共振子を有する素子であってもよい。この例を第9の実施形態及び第10の実施形態により示す。
 図23は、第9の実施形態に係る弾性波装置の略図的平面図である。図23においては、IDT電極を、矩形に2本の対角線を加えた略図により示す。
 弾性波装置40は、フィルタ装置やマルチプレクサなどの一部として用いられる素子である。弾性波装置40においては、圧電膜としての圧電体層6上に、IDT電極47A及びIDT電極47Bが設けられている。これにより、IDT電極47Aを含む弾性波共振子41A、及びIDT電極47Bを含む弾性波共振子41Bが構成されている。なお、圧電膜上には、3つ以上のIDT電極が設けられていてもよい。弾性波装置40は、IDT電極をそれぞれ含む、3つ以上の弾性波共振子を有していてもよい。
 本実施形態では、IDT電極47A及びIDT電極47Bは、同じ圧電膜としての、同じ圧電体層6上に設けられている。なお、IDT電極47A及びIDT電極47Bは、個別の圧電膜上に設けられていてもよい。
 平面視において、支持部材における、IDT電極47A及びIDT電極47Bと重なる位置に、音響反射部が設けられている。音響反射部は、空洞部であってもよく、音響反射膜であってもよい。IDT電極47Aと平面視において重なっている音響反射部、及びIDT電極47Bと平面視において重なっている音響反射部が、個別に設けられていてもよい。あるいは、同じ音響反射部が、IDT電極47A及びIDT電極47Bと平面視において重なっていてもよい。
 IDT電極47A及びIDT電極47Bにおいてそれぞれ、d/P0が0.5以下である。このように、弾性波共振子41A及び弾性波共振子41Bはそれぞれ、厚み滑りモードのバルク波をメインモードとして利用可能に構成されている。
 本実施形態では、IDT電極47A及びIDT電極47Bのそれぞれにおいて、電極指ピッチが変化している。一方で、IDT電極47A及びIDT電極47Bのそれぞれにおいて、電極指の幅は一定である。具体的には、IDT電極47A及びIDT電極47Bのいずれにおいても、式(1)により表される隣接チャープ率が0°よりも大きく、0.6°以下であり、かつ式(2)により表される隣接チャープ率が0°である。

 それによって、弾性波共振子41A及び弾性波共振子41Bにおいて、ロスを低減させることができ、耐電力性を高くすることができる。従って、弾性波装置40全体として、ロスを効果的に低減させることができ、耐電力性を効果的に高くすることができる。
 もっとも、本発明においては、少なくとも1つのIDT電極において、d/P0が0.5以下であり、電極指ピッチ及び電極指の幅のうち少なくとも一方が変化していればよい。少なくとも1つのIDT電極が、平面視において、音響反射部と重なっていればよい。少なくとも1つのIDT電極の少なくとも一部において、式(1)及び式(2)のうち少なくとも一方により表される隣接チャープ率が0°よりも大きく、式(1)及び式(2)の双方により表される隣接チャープ率が0.6°以下であればよい。
 弾性波装置40においては、IDT電極47A及びIDT電極47Bにおける、式(3)及び式(4)のうち少なくとも一方により表されるチャープ強度の合計が5%以上である。より具体的には、本実施形態では、IDT電極47A及びIDT電極47Bのいずれにおいても、式(3)により表されるチャープ強度が5%以上である。もっとも、例えば、IDT電極47A及びIDT電極47Bにおける、式(3)及び式(4)のうち少なくとも一方により表されるチャープ強度がそれぞれ5%未満であり、双方の合計が5%以上であってもよい。

 それによって、弾性波共振子41A及び弾性波共振子41Bにおいて、不要波を抑制することができる。従って、弾性波装置40全体として、不要波を効果的に抑制することができる。
 なお、少なくとも1つのIDT電極において、式(3)及び式(4)のうち少なくとも一方により表されるチャープ強度が5%以上であってもよい。
 弾性波装置40における弾性波共振子41AのIDT電極47A、及び弾性波共振子41BのIDT電極47Bは、図11に示した第3の実施形態と同様の構成を有する。もっとも、IDT電極47A及びIDT電極47Bにおいては、電極指ピッチの範囲が互いに異なる。

 図23に示すように、弾性波共振子41A及び弾性波共振子41Bは、互いに並列に接続されている。互いに並列に接続された弾性波共振子同士において、IDT電極の電極指ピッチなどが同じである場合、各弾性波共振子において不要波が生じる周波数も同じとなるおそれがある。この場合、不要波が強め合うこととなる。これに対して、弾性波装置40においては、IDT電極47A及びIDT電極47Bのうち一方のPa_maxが、他方のPa_minよりも小さい。それによって、不要波が強め合うことを抑制できる。従って、弾性波装置40全体において、不要波を抑制することができる。
 なお、本発明の弾性波装置は、2つのIDT電極のうち一方のPa_maxが、他方のPa_minよりも小さい構成、及び2つのIDT電極のうち一方のMa_maxが、他方のMa_minよりも小さい構成のうち少なくとも一方の構成を有していてもよい。
 以下において、第10の実施形態により、2つのIDT電極のうち一方のMa_maxが、他方のMa_minよりも小さい構成の例を示す。第10の実施形態の弾性波装置は、2つのIDT電極のそれぞれにおいて、電極指ピッチが一定である点、及び2つのIDT電極のそれぞれにおいて、電極指の幅が変化している点以外においては、第9の実施形態の弾性波装置40と同様に構成されている。そのため、第10の実施形態の説明には、第9の実施形態の説明に用いた図23及び符号を援用することとする。
 第10の実施形態においては、弾性波共振子41AのIDT電極47A、及び弾性波共振子41BのIDT電極47Bのいずれにおいても、式(2)により表される隣接チャープ率が、0°よりも大きく、0.6°以下である。一方で、式(1)により表される隣接チャープ率は0°である。第10の実施形態においても、第9の実施形態と同様に、弾性波装置全体として、ロスを効果的に低減させることができ、耐電力性を効果的に高くすることができる。
 図23を援用して示すように、弾性波共振子41A及び弾性波共振子41Bは、互いに並列に接続されている。第10の実施形態では、弾性波共振子41AのIDT電極47A及び弾性波共振子41BのIDT電極47Bにおいて、電極指の幅の範囲が互いに異なる。
 図25(a)は、第10の実施形態における一方の弾性波共振子における、IDT電極の電極指直交方向における位置と、電極指の幅との関係を示す図である。図25(b)は、第10の実施形態における他方の弾性波共振子における、IDT電極の電極指直交方向における位置と、電極指の幅との関係を示す図である。
 図25(a)は、弾性波共振子41AのIDT電極47Aにおける電極指の幅の範囲を示している。図25(b)は、弾性波共振子41BのIDT電極47Bにおける電極指の幅の範囲を示している。図25(a)中及び図25(b)中の破線mxは、IDT電極47AにおけるMa_maxと、IDT電極47BにおけるMa_minとの平均値を示している。図25(a)及び図25(b)に示すように、IDT電極47BのMa_maxが、IDT電極47AのMa_minよりも小さい。これにより、第10の実施形態においても、第9の実施形態と同様に、弾性波共振子41A及び弾性波共振子41Bの不要波が強め合うことを抑制できる。従って、弾性波装置全体において、不要波を抑制することができる。
 第1~第10の実施形態により示したように、本発明に係る弾性波装置においては、圧電膜上に少なくとも1つのIDT電極が設けられていればよい。具体的には、第1~第10の実施形態では圧電膜上に1つまたは2つのIDT電極が設けられている例を示した。
 そして、少なくとも1つのIDT電極において、d/P0≦0.5であればよい。d/P0≦0.5である少なくとも1つのIDT電極の少なくとも一部において、式(1)及び式(2)のうち少なくとも一方により表される隣接チャープ率が0°よりも大きければよい。該IDT電極の全体において、式(1)及び式(2)の双方により表される隣接チャープ率が0.6°以下であればよい。

 本発明に係る弾性波装置は、例えば、フィルタ装置に用いることができる。この例を第11の実施形態により示す。
 図26は、本発明の第11の実施形態に係るフィルタ装置の回路図である。
 フィルタ装置50はラダー型フィルタである。フィルタ装置50は、第1の信号端子52及び第2の信号端子53と、複数の弾性波共振子とを有する。本実施形態では、第2の信号端子53はアンテナ端子である。アンテナ端子はアンテナに接続される。なお、第2の信号端子53は、必ずしもアンテナ端子ではなくともよい。第1の信号端子52及び第2の信号端子53は、電極パッドとして構成されていてもよく、あるいは、配線として構成されていてもよい。
 本実施形態における複数の弾性波共振子はいずれも、本発明に係る、1つの弾性波共振子としての弾性波装置である。具体的には、本実施形態における複数の弾性波共振子は、例えば、第1~第8の実施形態のうちいずれかの弾性波装置である。なお、少なくとも1つの弾性波共振子が、上記少なくとも1つのIDT電極を有していればよい。
 当該IDT電極は、具体的には、d/P0≦0.5であり、少なくとも一部において、式(1)及び式(2)のうち少なくとも一方により表される隣接チャープ率が0°よりも大きいIDT電極である。当該IDT電極の全体においては、式(1)及び式(2)の双方により表される隣接チャープ率が0.6°以下である。当該IDT電極は、例えば、第1~第8の実施形態のうちいずれかにおけるIDT電極である。
 フィルタ装置50の複数の弾性波共振子は、複数の直列腕共振子及び複数の並列腕共振子を含む。本実施形態の複数の直列腕共振子は、具体的には、直列腕共振子S1、直列腕共振子S2及び直列腕共振子S3である。第1の信号端子52及び第2の信号端子53の間において、直列腕共振子S1、直列腕共振子S2及び直列腕共振子S3が互いに直列に接続されている。回路構成上、第1の信号端子52側から、直列腕共振子S1、直列腕共振子S2及び直列腕共振子S3がこの順序において配置されている。
 本実施形態の複数の並列腕共振子は、具体的には、並列腕共振子Z1及び並列腕共振子Z2である。直列腕共振子S1及び直列腕共振子S2の間の接続点とグラウンド電位との間に、並列腕共振子Z1が接続されている。直列腕共振子S2及び直列腕共振子S3の間の接続点とグラウンド電位との間に、並列腕共振子Z2が接続されている。
 なお、フィルタ装置50の回路構成は上記に限定されない。フィルタ装置50がラダー型フィルタである場合、フィルタ装置50は、少なくとも1つ直列腕共振子及び少なくとも1つの並列腕共振子を有していればよい。
 あるいは、本発明に係るフィルタ装置は、縦結合共振子型弾性波フィルタを含んでいてもよい。この場合、フィルタ装置は、少なくとも1つの直列腕共振子及び少なくとも1つの並列腕共振子のうち少なくとも一方を有していればよい。なお、本明細書においては、弾性波共振子及び縦結合共振子型弾性波フィルタは、いずれも共振子に含まれる。本発明に係るフィルタ装置は、縦結合共振子型弾性波フィルタを含めて、複数の共振子を有していればよい。本発明のフィルタ装置においては、少なくとも1つの共振子が、直列腕共振子及び並列腕共振子のうち一方であり、かつ本発明に係る弾性波装置であればよい。
 フィルタ装置50においては、弾性波共振子として、本発明に係る弾性波装置が用いられている。よって、弾性波共振子におけるロスを低減させることができ、耐電力性を高くすることができる。従って、フィルタ装置50の挿入損失を小さくすることができ、フィルタ装置50全体として耐電力性を高くすることができる。
 なお、本発明に係るフィルタ装置は、例えば、第9の実施形態または第10の実施形態のような、フィルタ装置の一部として用いられる素子である弾性波装置を含んでいてもよい。例えば、図27に示す第11の実施形態の変形例に係るフィルタ装置50Aは、第9の実施形態の弾性波装置が用いられたラダー型フィルタである。本変形例の回路構成は、図26に示す第11の実施形態の回路構成において、並列腕共振子Z1が、並列腕共振子Z11a及び並列腕共振子Z11bに置き換えられた構成である。
 並列腕共振子Z11a及び並列腕共振子Z11bは、直列腕共振子S1及び直列腕共振子S2の間の接続点と、グラウンド電位との間に、互いに並列に接続されている。並列腕共振子Z11a及び並列腕共振子Z11bは、第9の実施形態に係る弾性波装置40における2つの弾性波共振子である。
 なお、並列腕共振子Z11a及び並列腕共振子Z11bは、第10の実施形態に係る弾性波装置における2つの弾性波共振子であってもよい。あるいは、例えば、第9の実施形態または第10の実施形態における2つの弾性波共振子は、互いに並列に接続された2つの直列腕共振子であってもよい。
 本変形例においても、第11の実施形態と同様に、弾性波共振子におけるロスを低減させることができ、耐電力性を高くすることができる。従って、フィルタ装置50Aの挿入損失を小さくすることができ、フィルタ装置50A全体として耐電力性を高くすることができる。
 以下において、本発明における好ましい構成を、図1を用いて説明する。もっとも、以下の好ましい構成は、第1の実施形態以外の本発明の構成にも適用することができる。
 第1の実施形態においては、圧電膜の厚みをdとし、電極指ピッチの平均値をP0としたときに、d/P0が0.5以下である。なお、d/P0が0.24以下であることが好ましい。それによって、厚み滑りモードのバルク波がより好適に励振され、かつ弾性波共振子の比帯域の値を十分に大きくすることができる。
 図28は、d/P0と、弾性波共振子の比帯域との関係を示す図である。
 図28から明らかなように、d/P0>0.5である場合には、比帯域は5%未満である。これに対して、d/P0≦0.5である場合には、比帯域を5%以上にすることができる。よって、厚み滑りモードのバルク波の電気機械結合係数を大きくすることができる。d/P0≦0.24である場合には、比帯域を7%以上にすることができる。よって、厚み滑りモードのバルク波の電気機械結合係数を効果的に大きくすることができる。これらのことから、本発明では、少なくとも1つのIDT電極において、d/P0≦0.24であることが好ましい。
 励振領域Cに対する、電極指のメタライゼーション比をMRとしたときに、MR≦1.75(d/P0)+0.075を満たすことが好ましい。この場合には、弾性波共振子の比帯域の値が大きくなりすぎず、共振周波数及び反共振周波数の間においてスプリアスが生じることを抑制できる。この詳細を以下において示す。
 なお、本明細書では、励振領域Cに対する電極指のメタライゼーション比MRは、平面視したときに、圧電体層6が電極指を構成する金属により被覆されている部分が、励振領域Cにおいて占める割合である。具体的には、平面視したときの、励振領域Cの面積に対する、励振領域C内における第1の電極指18及び第2の電極指19の面積の比が、メタライゼーション比MRとなる。なお、励振領域C内に位置する電極指の幅が一定である場合には、励振領域C内に位置する電極指の幅の合計を、励振領域Cの電極指直交方向に沿う寸法により割ることによって、メタライゼーション比MRを算出することもできる。なお、電極指の幅は、電極指の電極指直交方向に沿う寸法である。
 図29は、弾性波共振子における比帯域と、規格化されたスプリアスの大きさとの関係を示す図である。図29では、圧電体層の厚みや電極指の寸法を変化させることにより、比帯域を変化させる毎に、スプリアスの位相回転量を測定した結果を示す。なお、図29における規格化されたスプリアスの大きさは、具体的には、スプリアスのインピーダンスの位相回転量が、180°により規格化された値である。図29に示す結果は、ZカットのLiNbOからなる圧電体層を用いた場合の結果であるが、他のカット角の圧電体層を用いた場合においても、同様の傾向となる。
 図29中の楕円Dにより囲まれている領域では、共振周波数及び反共振周波数の間における規格化されたスプリアスの大きさが、1.0となっている。弾性波共振子の比帯域が17%を超えると、規格化された該スプリアスの大きさが、1.0以上となり得る。このことから、比帯域は17%以下であることが好ましい。それによって、共振周波数及び反共振周波数の間におけるスプリアスを抑制することができる。
 図30は、d/P0と、メタライゼーション比MRと、比帯域との関係を示す図である。図30では、d/P0及びメタライゼーション比MRを異ならせる毎に、比帯域を算出した結果を示す。
 図30中において、ハッチングを付して示した部分は、比帯域が17%以下の領域である。このハッチングを付した領域と、付していない領域との境界は、おおよそ破線Gにより表される。破線Gは、MR=1.75(d/P0)+0.075により表される。そして、MR≦1.75(d/P0)+0.075であることが好ましい。この場合には、比帯域を17%以下とし易い。
 一方で、図30中の一点鎖線G1により、d/P0の変化に対するメタライゼーション比MRの変化の傾きが、破線Gの該傾きと同じであり、かつ全ての範囲において比帯域が17%以下となる境界を示す。一点鎖線G1は、MR=1.75(d/P0)+0.05により表される。そして、MR≦1.75(d/P0)+0.05であることがより好ましい。この場合には、比帯域をより確実に17%以下にすることができる。これらのことから、本発明では、少なくとも1つのIDT電極が設けられている部分において、MR≦1.75(d/P0)+0.075であることが好ましく、MR≦1.75(d/P0)+0.05であることがより好ましい。
 図31は、d/P0を限りなく0に近づけた場合のLiNbOのオイラー角(0°,θ,ψ)に対する比帯域のマップを示す図である。図31のハッチングを付して示した部分が、少なくとも5%以上の比帯域が得られる領域であり、当該領域の範囲を近似すると、下記の式(5)、式(6)及び式(7)により表される範囲となる。

 <17><12>、<13>または<15>のいずれか1つに記載の弾性波装置と、前記2つの弾性波共振子以外の少なくとも1つの共振子と、を備え、前記2つの弾性波共振子が、互いに並列に接続された直列腕共振子、及び互いに並列に接続された並列腕共振子のうち一方である、フィルタ装置。

Claims (17)

  1.  支持部材と、
     前記支持部材上に設けられており、圧電体層を含む圧電膜と、
     前記圧電膜上に設けられており、複数の電極指を有する少なくとも1つのIDT電極と、
    を備え、
     平面視において、前記支持部材における、少なくとも1つの前記IDT電極と重なる位置に音響反射部が設けられており、
     前記圧電膜の厚みをdとし、前記IDT電極における電極指ピッチの平均値をP0としたときに、前記少なくとも1つのIDT電極において、d/P0が0.5以下であり、
     前記少なくとも1つのIDT電極において、電極指ピッチ及び前記電極指の幅のうち少なくとも一方が変化しており、
     連続する3本の前記電極指において、一方の電極指ピッチをP1、他方の電極指ピッチをP2とし、連続する3本の前記電極指の幅のうち最も広い幅をMmax、最も狭い幅をMminとしたときに、前記少なくとも1つのIDT電極の少なくとも一部において、下記の式(1)及び式(2)のうち少なくとも一方により表される隣接チャープ率が0°よりも大きく、該IDT電極の全体において、下記の式(1)及び式(2)の双方により表される隣接チャープ率が0.6°以下である、弾性波装置。

  2.  前記IDT電極全体において、最も長い電極指ピッチをPa_max、最も短い電極指ピッチをPa_minとし、前記IDT電極全体において、前記複数の電極指の幅のうち最も広い幅をMa_max、最も狭い幅をMa_minとし、前記IDT電極における前記複数の電極指の幅の平均値をM0としたときに、前記少なくとも1つのIDT電極において、下記の式(3)及び式(4)のうち少なくとも一方により表されるチャープ強度が5%以上である、請求項1に記載の弾性波装置。

  3.  前記少なくとも1つのIDT電極において、前記式(3)及び前記式(4)のうち少なくとも一方により表されるチャープ強度が10%以上である、請求項2に記載の弾性波装置。
  4.  前記少なくとも1つのIDT電極において、電極指ピッチの値及び前記電極指の幅の値のうち少なくとも一方が、該IDT電極における中央に向かうにつれて大きくなっている、請求項1~3のいずれか1項に記載の弾性波装置。
  5.  前記少なくとも1つのIDT電極において、電極指ピッチの値及び前記電極指の幅の値のうち少なくとも一方が、該IDT電極における中央に向かうにつれて小さくなっている、請求項1~3のいずれか1項に記載の弾性波装置。
  6.  前記複数の電極指が延びる方向と直交する方向を電極指直交方向としたときに、前記少なくとも1つのIDT電極において電極指ピッチの値及び前記電極指の幅の値のうち少なくとも一方が、該IDT電極の前記電極指直交方向における一方端から他方端に向かうにつれて小さくなっている、請求項1~3のいずれか1項に記載の弾性波装置。
  7.  前記少なくとも1つのIDT電極が、電極指ピッチ及び前記電極指の幅が変化している前記IDT電極を含み、
     電極指ピッチ及び前記電極指の幅が変化している前記IDT電極において、電極指ピッチの前記平均値P0よりも電極指ピッチの値が大きい領域における前記電極指の幅の値が、該IDT電極における前記複数の電極指の幅の平均値よりも小さい、請求項1~6のいずれか1項に記載の弾性波装置。
  8.  前記複数の電極指が延びる方向と直交する方向を電極指直交方向としたときに、隣り合う前記電極指同士が前記電極指直交方向において重なり合っている領域であり、かつ隣り合う前記電極指の中心間の領域が励振領域であり、
     前記励振領域に対する、前記電極指のメタライゼーション比をMRとしたときに、前記少なくとも1つのIDT電極が設けられている部分において、MR≦1.75(d/P0)+0.075を満たす、請求項1~7のいずれか1項に記載の弾性波装置。
  9.  前記音響反射部が空洞部であり、前記支持部材の一部及び前記圧電膜の一部が、前記空洞部を挟み互いに対向するように、前記支持部材と前記圧電膜とが配置されている、請求項1~8のいずれか1項に記載の弾性波装置。
  10.  前記音響反射部が、相対的に音響インピーダンスが高い高音響インピーダンス層と、相対的に音響インピーダンスが低い低音響インピーダンス層と、を含む、音響反射膜であり、前記支持部材の少なくとも一部及び前記圧電膜の少なくとも一部が、前記音響反射膜を挟み互いに対向するように、前記支持部材と前記圧電膜とが配置されている、請求項1~8のいずれか1項に記載の弾性波装置。
  11.  前記圧電体層がニオブ酸リチウムまたはタンタル酸リチウムからなり、
     前記圧電体層を構成しているニオブ酸リチウムまたはタンタル酸リチウムのオイラー角(φ,θ,ψ)が、以下の式(5)、式(6)または式(7)の範囲にある、請求項1~10のいずれか1項に記載の弾性波装置。

     (0°±10°,20°~80°,0°~60°(1-(θ-50)/900)1/2) または (0°±10°,20°~80°,[180°-60°(1-(θ-50)/900)1/2]~180°)  …式(6)

  12.  少なくとも2つの前記IDT電極を備え、
     平面視において、前記支持部材における、2つの前記IDT電極と重なる位置に前記音響反射部が設けられており、
     前記2つのIDT電極においてそれぞれ、d/P0が0.5以下であり、電極指ピッチ及び前記電極指の幅のうち少なくとも一方が変化しており、
     前記IDT電極全体において、最も長い電極指ピッチをPa_max、最も短い電極指ピッチをPa_minとし、前記IDT電極全体において、前記複数の電極指の幅のうち最も広い幅をMa_max、最も狭い幅をMa_minとし、前記IDT電極における前記複数の電極指の幅の平均値をM0としたときに、前記2つのIDT電極における、下記の式(3)及び式(4)のうち少なくとも一方により表されるチャープ強度の合計が5%以上であり、
     前記2つのIDT電極をそれぞれ含む2つの弾性波共振子が構成されており、前記2つの弾性波共振子が並列に接続されている、請求項1~11のいずれか1項に記載の弾性波装置。

  13.  前記2つのIDT電極のうち一方の前記Pa_maxが、他方の前記Pa_minよりも小さい構成、及び前記2つのIDT電極のうち一方の前記Ma_maxが、他方の前記Ma_minよりも小さい構成のうち少なくとも一方の構成を有する、請求項12に記載の弾性波装置。
  14.  前記少なくとも1つのIDT電極において、d/P0が0.24以下である、請求項1~11のいずれか1項に記載の弾性波装置。
  15.  前記少なくとも1つのIDT電極において、d/P0が0.24以下である、請求項12または13に記載の弾性波装置。
  16.  複数の共振子を備え、
     前記複数の共振子が、少なくとも1つの直列腕共振子及び少なくとも1つの並列腕共振子のうち少なくとも一方を含み、
     前記複数の共振子のうち少なくとも1つが、請求項1~11または14のいずれか1項に記載の弾性波装置である、フィルタ装置。
  17.  請求項12、13または15のいずれか1項に記載の弾性波装置と、
     前記2つの弾性波共振子以外の少なくとも1つの共振子と、
    を備え、
     前記2つの弾性波共振子が、互いに並列に接続された直列腕共振子、及び互いに並列に接続された並列腕共振子のうち一方である、フィルタ装置。
