- FIG. 3 is a functional block diagram showing the configuration of the control system of the processor 51 of the control device 5.
- the processor 51 realizes various functions by reading a control program from the storage device 52 into memory and expanding it. Specifically, the processor 51 functions as a determiner 54 that determines whether to switch between the first and second operating modes, and a switcher 55 that switches between the first and second operating modes.
- the determiner 54 determines whether a switching condition is met.
- the switching condition is a condition for switching between the first operating mode and the second operating mode.
- the switching condition is a condition for switching from the first operating mode to the second operating mode.
- the switching condition may also be a condition for switching from the second operating mode to the first operating mode.
- the switching condition may be related to the supply status of power from power supply source E.
- the switching condition may be set based on the electricity rate of power company 110.
- the switching condition may be that the electricity rate is equal to or greater than a predetermined first reference rate.
- power company 110 may have a pricing system in which electricity rates fluctuate.
- electricity rates may fluctuate in line with the market price at the Japan Electric Power Exchange. Electricity rates reflect the supply status of power from the power supply source. When the power supply is relatively high, the electricity rate is low, and when the power supply is relatively low, the electricity rate is high.
- the determiner 54 determines whether to switch between the first operating mode and the second operating mode in accordance with the fluctuating electricity rate.
- the switching condition may be set based on the amount of power generated by the renewable energy power generation facility 120.
- the switching condition may be that the amount of power generated is equal to or less than a predetermined first reference amount of power. For example, the amount of power generated by solar power generation is relatively large during the day in good weather. On the other hand, the amount of power generated by solar power generation is relatively small (or even zero in some cases) in bad weather or at night. In other words, the amount of power generated by the renewable energy power generation facility 120 reflects the power supply status of the power supply source.
- the determiner 54 determines whether to switch between the first and second operating modes depending on the amount of power generated.
- the determiner 54 may determine switching between the first operating mode and the second operating mode based on a prediction of the power supply situation. For example, the determiner 54 predicts the power supply situation per predetermined unit period based on past performance. For example, the unit period is one week.
- the power supply situation is the power rate or the amount of power generated.
- the determiner 54 predicts fluctuations in the power rate or the amount of power generated for the next week based on the power rate or the amount of power generated for the most recent past week. With regard to the amount of power generated for the next week, the determiner 54 may further take into account the weather forecast for the next week.
- the switching condition may be that the predicted power rate is equal to or less than a predetermined first reference rate or that the predicted amount of power generated is equal to or less than a first reference amount of power.
- the switch 55 switches between the first operating mode and the second operating mode depending on the result of the switching condition determination. If the condition for switching to the second operating mode is not met, the switch 55 executes the first operating mode. If the condition for switching to the second operating mode is met, the switch 55 executes the second operating mode. In other words, when the condition for switching to the second operating mode transitions from not met to met, the switch 55 switches from the first operating mode to the second operating mode. When the condition for switching to the second operating mode transitions from met to not met, the switch 55 switches from the second operating mode to the first operating mode.
- Figure 4 is a schematic diagram showing the flow of energy in the first operating mode of the energy management system 100.
- lines through which hydrogen or electricity flows are indicated by thick lines.
- the switch 55 operates the water electrolysis device 1 to store hydrogen in the hydrogen storage tank 2.
- the switch 55 stops the release of hydrogen from the hydrogen storage tank 2.
- the switch 55 also operates the compressor 11.
- the water electrolysis device 1 operates using power from the power supply source.
- the energy management system 100 consumes power to store hydrogen, i.e., converts the energy of the power into the energy of hydrogen.
- the switch 55 does not operate the prime mover 3 and the generator 6. In other words, power is supplied to the power-using equipment at site S from the power supply source E.
- the switch 55 may operate the electric heater 41 of the heat storage device 4 to heat the hot water in the heat storage device 4.
- the electric heater 41 is supplied with power from the power supply source E.
- the energy management system 100 consumes power and stores heat, i.e., converts the electric energy into heat energy.
- the determiner 54 determines whether a heat storage condition is met.
- the heat storage condition is a condition for performing heating by the electric heater 41 during the first operating mode.
- the heat storage condition may be related to the supply status of power from the power supply source E. Specifically, the heat storage condition may be set based on the electricity rate of the electric power company 110 or the amount of power generated by the renewable energy power generation facility 120.
- the heat storage condition is a condition under which the power supply status is better than the condition for switching between the first operating mode and the second operating mode.
- the heat storage condition is that the electricity rate is less than the second reference rate or the amount of power generated is greater than the second reference power amount.
- the second base price is lower than the first base price.
- the second base energy amount is higher than the first base energy amount.
- an electricity price lower than the second base price indicates that the electricity price is particularly low even when the electricity price is lower than the first base price.
- An amount of generated energy greater than the second base energy amount indicates that the amount of generated energy is particularly high even when the amount of generated energy is greater than the first base energy amount.
- the determiner 54 may determine whether the heat storage condition is met based on a prediction of the power supply situation. When the heat storage condition is met, the switch 55 heats the hot water using the electric heater 41.
- the switch 55 can also operate the electric heater 41 when the energy management system 100 receives a power grid stabilization command from the electric power company. In this case, the switch 55 continues heating using the electric heater 41 even if the heat storage capacity of the heat storage device 4 is exceeded. The switch 55 evaporates the hot water in the heat storage device 4 and dissipates the heat as steam. When a power grid stabilization command is sent from the electric power company, this means that the electric power company has a surplus of electricity. In such a case, the energy management system 100 receives and consumes electricity by heating the hot water in the heat storage device 4 with the electric heater 41. Even if the heat storage capacity of the heat storage device 4 is exceeded, the energy management system 100 heats the hot water with the electric heater 41 and dissipates it as steam. In this way, the energy management system 100 receives surplus electricity from the electric power company.
- the switch 55 may store the power from the power supply source E in the storage battery 62. This allows power available when the supply situation is favorable to be stored in preparation for times when the supply situation is unfavorable. At this time, the switch 55 may supply power with reduced fluctuations to the storage battery 62 by having at least one of the water electrolysis device 1 and the electric heater 41 consume a portion of the power from the power supply source E. This allows the life of the storage battery 62 to be extended.
- FIG. 5 is a schematic diagram showing the flow of energy in the second operating mode of the energy management system 100.
- lines through which hydrogen, electricity, or steam flow are indicated by thick lines.
- the switch 55 operates the prime mover 3 to cause the generator 6 to generate electricity.
- the electricity generated by the generator 6 is stored in the storage battery 62 or supplied to electrical equipment within the site S. Any surplus electricity generated that is not consumed within the site S may be sold to the electric power company 110.
- the switch 55 causes the hydrogen storage tank 2 to supply hydrogen to the prime mover 3.
- the switch 55 opens the valve of the hydrogen storage tank 2 to release the hydrogen. This activates the expander 21 to depressurize the hydrogen and generate electricity.
- the depressurized hydrogen is supplied to the prime mover 3.
- the electricity generated by the expander 21 is also supplied to at least one of the storage battery 62, the electrical equipment, and the electric power company 110.
- the switch 55 operates the waste heat boiler 7, causing the waste heat of the prime mover 3 to be recovered by the waste heat boiler 7.
- the heat recovered by the waste heat boiler 7 is stored in the heat storage device 4.
- the switch 55 supplies natural gas to the prime mover 3.
- the prime mover 3 operates using natural gas as fuel to drive the generator 6.
- the energy management system 100 consumes stored hydrogen to generate electricity, i.e., converts the energy of the hydrogen into electrical energy. In addition, the energy management system 100 recovers waste heat during power generation.
- the heat stored in the heat storage device 4 is used according to the heat demand within the site S, regardless of whether the first or second operating mode is in operation. In other words, in either the first or second operating mode, the energy management system 100 supplies hot water from the heat storage device 4 according to the heat demand of heat-using equipment, etc.
- FIG. 6 is a flowchart of the energy management process of the control device 5.
- the control device 5 executes the following process by loading and executing programs, etc. in the memory 53.
- step S101 the determiner 54 determines whether to switch between the first operating mode and the second operating mode.
- the determiner 54 determines whether the conditions for switching between the first operating mode and the second operating mode are met based on the power supply status from the power supply source E. For example, if the execution schedule for the first operating mode and the second operating mode is set based on a prediction of the power supply status per unit period, the determiner 54 determines whether the current time is the first operating mode or the second operating mode.
- the switch 55 executes the first operating mode. Specifically, in step S102, the determiner 54 determines whether the heat storage condition is met based on the power supply status from the power supply source E. For example, the determiner 54 determines whether the heat storage condition is met based on the predicted power supply status per unit period.
- the switch 55 stores hydrogen and heat in step S103. More specifically, the switch 55 operates the water electrolysis device 1. Power is supplied to the water electrolysis device 1 from the power supply source E. At this time, the switch 55 also operates the compressor 11. The hydrogen generated by the water electrolysis device 1 is compressed by the compressor 11 and stored in the hydrogen storage tank 2. The switch 55 stops the prime mover 3. In other words, no power is generated by the generator 6. In addition, the switch 55 operates the electric heater 41 in the heat storage device 4 to heat the hot water in the heat storage device 4. Power is supplied from the power supply source E to electrical equipment and the like within the site S.
- the determiner 54 returns to determining the driving mode in step S101.
- the switch 55 stores hydrogen in step S104.
- the hydrogen storage process is the same as in step S103.
- the switch 55 does not store heat using the electric heater 41.
- step S101 determines whether the determination made by the determiner 54 in step S101 is the second operating mode
- the switch 55 executes the second operating mode. Specifically, in step S105, the switch 55 operates the prime mover 3.
- the switch 55 causes the hydrogen storage tank 2 to supply stored hydrogen to the prime mover 3.
- the prime mover 3 operates using hydrogen gas as fuel.
- the prime mover 3 drives the generator 6, which generates electricity.
- the generated electricity is supplied to electrical equipment, etc.
- the generated electricity may be stored in the storage battery 62.
- the generated electricity may be sold to the electric power company 110.
- step S106 the switch 55 operates the waste heat boiler 7 to recover waste heat from the prime mover 3 and store the recovered heat in the heat storage device 4.
- the determiner 54 returns to determining the driving mode in step S101.
- the energy management system 100 efficiently utilizes energy by selectively executing the first operating mode and the second operating mode depending on the power supply situation. Specifically, when the power supply situation is good, for example, when electricity rates are low, hydrogen is generated and stored using power from the power supply source E in the first operating mode in preparation for a power supply decrease. Furthermore, power is supplied to the power-using equipment within the site S from the power supply source E. Power generation by the generator 6 is stopped. In this way, power from the power supply source E is actively used, and hydrogen is generated and stored in preparation for a deterioration in the power supply situation.
- the power supply situation may deteriorate at night. At night, the demand for power within site S is lower than during the day. Therefore, the power generated by prime mover 3 and generator 6 may be in excess within site S. In this case, the surplus power is sold to the power company 110. When the power supply deteriorates, the selling price is higher than when the power supply is good. In other words, the power can be sold at a higher price.
- Waste heat generated during power generation is supplied to the heat storage device 4 as steam.
- the waste heat recovery line connected to the heat storage device 4 is the steam pipe L4.
- Factories and the like are often equipped with steam pipes L4.
- the recovered heat can be guided to the heat storage device 4 using the existing steam pipe L4. This makes it possible to effectively utilize existing equipment and reduce installation costs when introducing the energy management system 100 into a factory or the like.
- the execution schedule for the first and second operating modes may be determined so that the ratio between the amount of thermal energy stored in the thermal storage device 4 and the amount of energy equivalent to hydrogen generated by the water electrolysis device 1 in the next unit period (hereinafter referred to as the stored energy ratio per unit period) is 1:4 to 1:10.
- the ratio between the amount of thermal energy stored in the thermal storage device 4 and the amount of energy equivalent to hydrogen generated by the water electrolysis device 1 in the unit period is correlated with the ratio between the execution period of the second operating mode and the execution period of the first operating mode in the unit period.
- the first operating mode tends to be assigned during the daytime, and the second operating mode tends to be assigned at night.
- the first operating mode is executed for a longer period than the second operating mode.
- the execution schedule may be set in advance by the user.
- the switch 55 switches between the first and second operation modes according to the preset execution schedule. For example, the user predicts fluctuations in electricity rates for the next unit period based on past electricity rates per specified unit period, and sets an execution schedule for the first and second operation modes for the next unit period based on the predicted fluctuations in electricity rates.
- the switching between the first and second operating modes so that the ratio between the amount of thermal energy stored in the heat storage device 4 and the amount of energy equivalent to hydrogen generated by the water electrolysis device 1 per unit period is 1:4 to 1:10 is not limited to control based on an execution schedule.
- the determiner 54 may determine whether to switch between the first and second operating modes based basically on the current power supply situation, and may adjust the switching between the first and second operating modes so that the ratio per unit period is 1:4 to 1:10. For example, the determiner 54 may switch the operating mode based basically on the current power supply situation, and at the end of the unit period, may switch the operating mode by prioritizing keeping the ratio within the range of 1:4 to 1:10 over the current power supply situation.
- the determiner 54 may switch to the first operating mode when the power supply is relatively high, switch to the second operating mode when the power supply is relatively low, and switch to either the first operating mode or the second operating mode when the power supply is in between high and low so that the ratio falls within the range of 1:4 to 1:10.

- the prime mover 3 may also be a reciprocating engine or a rotary engine.
- the prime mover 3 is not limited to one that can operate on both hydrogen gas and natural gas, but may also be one that can operate on at least hydrogen gas.
- the waste heat from the prime mover 3 may be recovered as hot water instead of steam. In that case, hot water is supplied to the heat storage device 4.
- the heat storage device 4 is not limited to a hot water tank.

Description
例えば、処理器51は、CPU(Central Processing Unit)等のプロセッサである。処理器51は、MCU(Micro Controller Unit)、MPU(Micro Processor Unit)、FPGA(Field Programmable Gate Array)、PLC(Programmable Logic Controller)、システムLSI等であってもよい。
記憶器52は、不揮発性メモリ、HDD(Hard Disc Drive)又はSSD(Solid State Drive)等である。
